This gets me every time.

My favorite baby songs...
Lullaby in Ragtime, from an old Danny Kaye movie, sang this all the time to my babies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ilb0E6FO-Pc Barenaked Ladies - When You Dream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9882TB9nLo0 Billy Joel - Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gav66byYJMw |
| A bit of a cliche, but I sang You are My Sunshine to son often in his first few months. He spent time in the NICU and I remember holding on to the line "please don't take my sunshine away" until I was tears. |
I walked down the aisle to this song at my wedding- very special. |
| Slipping through my fingers- Mama Mia. I have two daughters. Tear up every time! |
I am a DP (the baby barnacle one) and you should totally enjoy the song, I just meant it as a gentle thing to look out for. This kind of thing was how I kind of kept track of whether my anxiety/rage at my spouse was trustworthy or whether I needed to wait with whatever I was feeling and try to look at it again later. I’m just saying, the hormones from breastfeeding, weaning and not sleeping are so major and the medical industry will do a big old nothing for you unless you’re literally suicidal. They won’t give you any tips or coping strategies. |
| The lyrics are pretty. Not digging the singer. I can see why it catches your heart. Sentiment for sure. |
| I couldn’t remember the lyrics to anything from lack of sleep. I hummed Sea of Love and the m ward cover of Let’s Dance plus some Beatles I will. Lots of no words atonal humming, slow dancing and house walking/rocking. |
Beyonce's Halo came out right when my daughter was born and "standing in the light of your halo, I've got my angel now..." just killed me! Hormonal for sure but I'm tearing up thinking of it and she's now a teen

| Try Everything by Shakira, no song better fits having a newborn! |

Dixie Chicks Godspeed and aptly named Lullaby.
I sing both to my son but Godspeed is more of those days where he is growing up fast and learning and I feel grateful. Lullaby for sweaty hands and feet as they sleep or cuddle tucked in close. |
