You're missing the point entirely. Did Democratic PACs put out ads for the Trumpy gubernatorial candidate in Maryland? Absolutely, and nobody is denying that (do I agree with that strategy? No, but that's neither here nor there). But the ads weren't slandering Shultz, they weren't pumping out disinformation. They were highlighting Cox's Trumpiness. And Maryland Republicans loved that. And, as a PP noted, Lake didn't need any Democratic PAC help in Arizona to fend off those who pass as "sane" Republicans these days. When will Republicans admit that their party is the party of fascism, the party of white nationalism, the party of depraved populism? I won't be holding my breath. |
First, the assertion that "it changed the course of several important elections" is completely speculative. More importantly, if you are equating the fairly common phenomenon of boosting an undesirable candidate in a primary to make the general election more favorable to a (hostile) foreign power interfering in a domestic election . . . well, you are the problem. And a decent example of today's Republican party. |
| Your heading is part of the problem. Are you embarrassed to be a moderate Democrat or God forbid an Independent thinker? |
"It's your fault for being embarrassed that the Republican party is a complete dumpster fire!" |
I don't understand why you feel bad for him. He is a far right wing conservative (not a Trimoster - think George Bush or Lynne Cheney - their policies are FAR right), who was only kept in check because of Democrats in the state legislature. We will absolutely NOT be better off in America with more Larry Hogan's. He has and will continue to turn far right as he runs for President in 2024, and I hope he loses, big time. |
| Trimoster = Trumpster |
| MD usually does copy VA but in a worse way. VA elects an Evangelical governor so of course MD has to follow up with an anti-democracy MAGA. |
LOL. You VA boosters are delusional No one copies Virginia. VA has always been a wannabe: Wannabe blue, wannabe Silicon Valley etc.... |
What democrats voted for Trumpy candidates? |
MD isn’t going to elect him, though. |
You’re out of the loop, this is the “sane” Republicans’ latest excuse for their party going down the toilet: the Democrats did it. Apparently the DNC spent some unknown figure promoting Trump favored picks in primaries, and now other Republicans are freaking out. Here is the thing: you can blame others for your party’s failings as much as you want, but it won’t fix your problems. |
| I don’t feel sorry for Larry Hogan nor the state of Maryland who voted for their Trump loving Republican nominee. Marylanders love to proclaim a left leaning state but the proof is in the pudding also known as the election ballots cast behind the curtain. So your true colors. |
| He will likely be scooped up by Fox News. And be richer. |
|
Yeah no. Sounds he’s with dumb or arrogant enough to consider a run as an independent. Or maybe he actually wants another 4 years of trump.

No democrats voted for Trumpy candidates. That is all on GOP voters. |
