I would never say this, but I kind of feel bad for Larry Hogan

Yeah, this is weird take and I voted for him. He is a very successful politician and has a real estate business. Maybe the GOP will have a place for him in a few years if they return to sanity. If not, then he will no doubt live out a comfortable and prosperous life with his family.

You don’t need to feel bad, at least not yet. We’re a heavily Democratic state overall. The chances of the state “going to Trump” are quite low, if by that you mean the Governor’s office.

Isn't 20 out of 23 counties red in md?

Even if that were the case, MD doesn't have an electoral college, so the 4,000 people who vote in Garrett County are outmoded by 1/4 of the town of Summerset and Friendship Heights, alone.

Maryland is not Virginia.

But worse, he steered his policies to benefit his financial and real estate interest.

So...while he may not be Trumpy, he isn't squeaky clean, either.

And lowered tolls to kowtow to his rural base, and vetoed historic investments in education, and paused the Purple Line causing years of delays and wasting hundreds of millions of dollars, and dozens of other examples. Typical penny-wise, pound-foolish Republican who was absolutely not above thumbing his nose at people who didn't vote for him and supplicating to people who did. I truly do not understand why some hold him in high regard. Unless the comparison is to other Republicans with a national profile, which says more about the GOP than it does Larry. Or, that we've lowered our standards for Republicans so much that those who (mostly) stay out of the culture war claptrap their party contrives are worthy of lavish praise. Or, that peoples' analysis is no more sophisticated than seeing that he is a Republican governor in a blue state and projecting some admirable (and entirely unearned) qualities onto him.

Nope. MoCo, PG, HoCo, Bmore County, Charles, that's already 5 blue counties and over 3/4 of MD population lives in these counties.

LOL, in politics, who is?

This is a supremely bad take. Larry Hogan’s ethical lapses benefit him personally and monetarily while he is supposedly acting as a public servant and are just so wildly brazen, calling it just typical politician stuff means you believe there cannot be any such thing as accountability and good governance, politicians should just start running their businesses and be governor on the side. We can’t just assume everyone is Trump. When we lower our standards to this extent we just start setting the bar lower and lower and lower and eventually it will affect our quality of life in a very bad way.

NO Republican is worthy of the office of the President of the US moving forward.

Did you miss the NAZI RALLY yesterday at CPAC? I did not hear one Republican denouncing that crap
Or how about all the Republicans that supported Alex Jones and his denial of Sandy Hook. Really? What do you not understand about how god awful that was and is for those families? Not one Republican denounced him not one!

While Biden or any other dem might not be a first choice or even a 10th choice voting in a Republican will destroy the US.
GOP has point blank said
1. raising taxes
2. Nazism will be mainstream already started in Florida teachers 3 day indoctrination
3. Women will lose all rights don't believe me you are not paying attention
4. Social security and medicare gone those are hard working Americans' monies republicans are going to steal them. Get ready to move in any family members that live on that.
5. Betsey DeVos schools???
6. Abortion 10-year-olds to have to go to term?? WTh? Death penalty, manslaughter charges etc..

Please explain why you stand with Nazi's. What policies do Repukes have that you want? Because if you look at the history they suck in terms of inflation, jobs, and health care yeah where's that plan they have been promising? Dems always come into the job and have to bail out republicans. Look at red states last in pretty much everything.

Sure Nazism is amazing for America
By the way, SCOTUS has a religion ready and it is not evangelical or mainstream Christian. Think about it. Not like they are hiding it.

And the very last thing

Republicans are aiming for no more voting in the US. You will never have a free and fair election again. Shut up Maga morons you totally messed this one up. Learn to read cognitively.

I don't know about anyone else but Voting Rights are key and that people like Liz Cheney and the rest of the Republican party voted NO for the Voting Rights ACt is all you need to know if you are a true American.

The establishment pick lost because of shadow campaigns from Democrats that poured MILLIONS of dollars into promoting him. Also, the only people that talk about Trump and AQnon this much are democrats. I’m a republican and never hear chatter about either of these things.

Outside of the DMV I think he will have a chance, but needs to start getting his name out there. People want moderate candidates that aren’t a gazillion years old.

I've heard this before, and the assumption of direct causation between the "shadow" campaigns and Cox getting the nomination strikes me as fanciful at best. If democratic campaigns were actually this powerful, the country would look a lot different right now.

Also, you live in a state of denial. The MAGA crazies *are* the base of the party. As an example, look at Arizona. You might not like it, but Trump is the most influential corce in the GOP

+1 The crazy R attorney general candidate beat the normal Republican with zero help from Democrats. Republicans need to look in the mirror.

Democrats have zero leg to stand on about Nazism, fascism or threats to democracy when they promoted and campaigned for trumpy candidates.
Nope not taking this hyperbole.

You’ve heard it before because they have been numerous articles in the WaPo talking about it. It’s real, it changed the course of several important elections and is despicable.
You can’t claim “Russian influence” on campaign outcomes while doing THE EXACT SAME THING domestically to primary elections.
