The results provided by our reps included the swimmer’s ranking, but no results from other teams. Hopefully everything will be posted on the NVSL website tomorrow.

Hope so. Have one very heartbroken swimmer. Seeing the standings might help. Finished 5 seconds under the all star cut off for last year and didn’t make it. Must have been a crazy fast day in that event.

What event? That seems off…

I'm guessing 10&under IM. Last year's times were REALLY slow (boys was 1:37 to make it)-- previous years were more in the 1:29 range.

It’s going to be awhile before NVSL posts it. All team reps and coaches have the results for their teams.

Any idea why?

They have all the data. At the very least they could post the psych sheet.

No reason they couldn’t have posted it at 6 pm yesterday.

oh that makes sense. in 2021 our IM slot was largely a 'throwaway'- it was the event that kids who weren't otherwise able to make divisionals might make it into. This year a lot of our very fastest swimmers picked IM- looking at the cut from last year. If that was replicated throughout the league, the cut would be much faster.

PP with the sad swimmer. That makes sense. Still rough! Would be good to see the times so they know how competitive it was. IM is such a crap shoot. Swimmer is kicking themselves about choosing it—it’s hard when they’re young to convince them it’s not a big deal, hearing lots of “what if I NEVER make it” and having to explain that it’s really fine if they don’t. Lots of us completely suck at our sports but we still do them—they don’t even suck, they just didn’t make this meet. Ready for vacation now!

What is taking so long to post the Divisional results?

FWIW, the Boys 10&U IM cutoff (for PP) was ~1:32

I asked. There were mistakes found on time cards. Those had to be fixed. Prior to the results being posted additional mistakes were found and reported (during team awards ceremonies for example), so those too have to be figured out an and corrected.

As a PP mentioned, the psych is up.

IM is so frustrating because you have no ideas what the times are like the rest of the strokes. Since it is swam at Divisionals why isn’t it swam at A meets? If we can’t have it at A meets why can’t IM Carnivals be a NVSL event so the times are posted and swimmers aren’t choosing in the dark? Swimmers in this event are really at a disadvantage.

Thanks! This won’t make my swimmer feel better so I’ll just hope they’ll move on

As for IM being a shot in the dark—I guess that’s kinda part of the thrill of summer swim. Have a good rest of the summer people, and congrats to the field.
