This is what they did the last time the meet was at Claude Moore (2019).

Anyone know what's happening with awards? Are they mailing them?

Ask the host for the vendor and awards questions- the name is on the announcement as is the contact email

I agree, my kid is at the open meet but isn’t interested in getting a shirt, but did when attended the 12u meet.[/quote

Agree - none of these kids in college park want a shirt- heck they couldn’t get the swimmers back to fill finals- it is sparsely attended

Sounds like we should switch venues for these meets.

I think UMD is a faster pool. No way the big kids would want to swim Claude Moore.

Is it really the end of the world if your kid can’t get a t shirt for a swim meet? I’m personally thrilled I can save the money. Plus LC champs don’t feel like as much of a big deal as JOs.

I’m pretty sure no one has said it’s the end of the world, and that’s great that JOs is a bigger deal for you and your swimmer. For kids who age up in the fall or winter this is often the championship meet they peak for, so yeah it would be nice for them to be able to get a t-shirt, assuming their parents aren’t being tightwads about it

I keep hearing conversations about this meet, but my kids haven't swum in it. Is it by invitation only for your teams or can top swimmers just enter if interested? Do the LC meets typically replace the local pool "summer swim" programs?

It’s the summer long course championship meet for PVS, the vast majority of swimmers are from clubs (there were only a handful of kids listed as unattached). The club swim season runs from September through July, this is the end of the season meet except for those kids that qualify for zones. You have to make qualifying times for each event that you wish to enter. It isn’t related at all to the summer rec swim season.

Do you have to qual based on LC times or if you are starting out, will they convert SC times?

I just looked it up, so I have the answer.

+1 our swimmer worked really really hard to make this meet. Would have been nice if it was treated like a big meet and not just any other swim meet.

I’m pretty sure the kids don’t have any say in the venue, and the older kids swam at Claude Moore last year.

GTFO. It is a 12&U, therefore, not a "big meet".
