I just tested positive and I am at my in laws 10 hours from home! Should I take Advil or Tylenol?

This

Honestly they should be asking you to leave

Or they should leave themselves

I think you should drive home. How far away is home?

10 hour drive and I have 2 kids (7 and 9yrs old old)

Hotel and room service. Don't expose everybody. It's too contagious

Huh? There’s nothing wrong with this plan.

So only expose the hotel workers, because they are expendable?

You put the do not disturb sign up and ask for towels and linens as needed, just leave at the door. Not a big deal.

Wow, just wow. You are still lacking critical thinking skills. Good grief.

Most hotels explicitly disallow covid patients.

You need to isolate. Either leave or move to a separate bedroom. Don’t go into the same room with them, even masked. And yes, if you’re under 50, call your PCP to discuss Paxlovid. It won’t stop symptoms but it may keep you out of the hospital.

All hotels have several covid positive patrons at any given time. As does any place you go. This is reality. Act according to your comfort level.

Yes. DH and I are on day 10 of Covid and just last night our DC said their throat hurts. They haven’t been anywhere else which means it took a few days for them to be infected from one of us.

This happened in my house too - one of us got symptoms 7 days after the first person, and another got symptoms 6 days after that. Every day you stay, you are continuing to expose your in laws. I would mask and isolate there for a day or two, and then head home. I think it is likely that the fever/aches won't last long and you'd be okay to drive with the symptoms that usually follow (congestion, etc.). If you have to, drive 5 hours one day, stop at a hotel for the night, and then drive the rest of the way.
