I just tested positive and I am at my in laws 10 hours from home! Should I take Advil or Tylenol?

What a mess. I tested before we came up here and was negative. Now 3 days later I am positive, fever at 99.7 and have chills all evening. I have been wearing my mask all day in their house which they think is ridiculous as they said every window in house is open and there’s a cool breeze. My legs are killing me, almost feels like flu. Should I take Tylenol or Advil to help offset my leg soreness and sleep. This sucks. Help! I am 43 and healthy for most part! If I go home, the drive will kick my butt and I already exposed them at this stage.

I'd stay in my room. Have spouse deliver my meals.

I'd take neither. Fever fights the virus. If it got 101+, then I'd take a pain reliever. Instead, I'd take CBD, C, zinc.. A study says CBD stopped viral replication. Good luck!

Ha - exactly the same here (at in-laws who we haven’t seen for 3 years because of Covid!). I have been taking Advil for fevers and isolating of course.

Tylenol and just stay in your room or check into a hotel

You can take either. Whatever you prefer is fine

Call your dr or Inova health in VA or u of MD.

They will do phone consult and call in meds. All free.

I would check into a hotel to get lots of sleep and downtime.

Can you elaborate on this ( the VA and MD ones) or provide weblink? Thanks

Just because you have already exposed them doesn't mean you aren't continuing to expose them now and for the next several days if you are near them. Hide away in a room with the door closed, use a separate bathroom if you can, and if in-laws are in an at-risk group, consider leaving the house.

Look up Test to Treat in your area, and get evaluated for Paxlovid.

If you are in Maryland, go here:
https://health.maryland.gov/newsroom/Pages/Maryland-Department-of-Health-and-partners-launch-COVID-Test-to-Treat-program-at-State-Center-in-Baltimore-City.aspx

on that page click the link for the “self-referral” and someone from Baltimore will call you back, ask a few brief screening questions and then set up a telemedicine visit to be evaluated for Paxlovid. If you qualify, they will prescribe thru a local pharmacy.

It is totally free to the patient - telehealth visit and medication.

Honestly they should be asking you to leave

Or they should leave themselves

I think you should drive home. How far away is home?

Paxlovid won’t shorten Covid or improve symptoms. It will only help prevent hospitalization and death.
