Best soup ever.
Sautee onions, carrots, celery. Add chicken or veggie broth (I eyeball it, but would guess 4-6 cups) great northern beans, use immersion blender to mix to your preferred level (I make in a large Dutch oven and usually puree 4 cans of beans in there and add 2 more cans that I d9 not puree at all). Add a Honey Baked Ham Bone. In 20 minutes or so (can definitely let simmer longer), cut off all the meat from the ham bone into the soup and remove the ham bone. Serve with crusty bread. Enjoy! |

I haven't made this but am planning to try it:

Garbanzo - spiced and roasted for a snack Northern - sausage, kale & white bean soup, white chicken chili Black - black bean & turkey stuffed peppers/chimichangas/burritos, cowboy caviar, chili |
Made this and really liked it! Served hot over toasted bread. Yum. Cook for longer than the 20+5 minutes though. I’d do 25+10 |

This is my most popular salad-black beans, corn, avocado and lime dressing . Most kids like it too. |

For your black beans, either Cowboy Caviar https://cafedelites.com/chili-lime-texas-caviar/#recipe or Spicy Black Bean Cakes https://www.marthastewart.com/332312/spicy-black-bean-cakes
Or boil up those garbanzos, skim off the skins and make hummus or Pasta e Ceci, one of those dishes that is far more delicious than its simplicity would suggest. https://smittenkitchen.com/2017/10/quick-pasta-and-chickpeas-pasta-e-ceci/ |

Thank you for posting these links. I made the Chipotle Lime Black bean salad this evening and it was a huge hit. Definitely a keeper. |

Black beans: heat 1 T oil in pot and add diced onion and garlic. After a 1-2 minutes, empty can and all liquid into pot. Add 2 t cumin (and a dash of cayenne pepper if you want a kick, too taste).cook at low temp until liquid is mostly absorbed and onions are so translucent Rey are mixed in. Mash a few of the bean. = mexican black beans for tacos, burritos, etc. I make these alongside of shredded chicken roasted in a blended can of Adobe sauce (sometimes I will add a scoop of this blend instead of cayenne pepper to the beans) for any taco night.
Garbanzo beans - this is from a smitten kitten recipe. Heat T of oil and add garbanzo beans. Fry / sautéed until browned. Remove beans. Add sliced zucchini (or any other veg) to pan and sauté until cooked to taste (add salt to taste also). Mix 1 c plain yogurt with 1 cloves diced garlic, squeeze of lemon juice, and salt to taste. Spread yogurt on plate, then beans, then veg. Soooo good. Kidney beans are not my favorite but traditional way to use them would be chili. |
