Based on appearence alone, do you consider this a luxury SUV?

Absolutely, rolling around in the 2013 Honda Fit I bought new makes me feel like I’m on the top of the world!

No but seriously I think buying new can be a really good idea, especially if interest rates happen to be low. You just don’t know what a car has been through if you get it used and it’s nice to have the peace of mind a new car gives. I’ve never missed a maintenance check, an oil change, etc. Of course buying used is often fine too.

How much gas per mile does that think get?

Yes, these photos show what luxury vehicles look like in 2022. These days, SUVs are the definition of luxury vehicles (not cars). Bigger is what people want (safe, imposing, comfortable), not sleek and tight handling. It says "I can afford the vehicle AND the fuel". That grill could not be more American.

Ironically, those small Porsche SUVs were an intentional cash grab to subsidize the cars that the company actually wants to produce.

And yet they are the brand's most popular cars. 60% of US sales last year were the 2 SUVs. Might be a cash grab, but we've had a good experience with our Cayenne and assume we will with the Macan as well.

If people want luxury SUVs you need to look at cars like the Bentayga or Urus.

An X5 with leather starts at 62k, and X7 starts at 78k. A Tahoe is a luxury SUV aimed at buyers who prefer to purchase from American manufactures and they are priced similarly to other luxury SUVs.

X5 with 2WD.

You can drive by the dealership and admire the elegance of your RR while it’s sitting on the lot waiting for parts and neverending repairs. You can also savor the breathtaking depreciation.

This is nonsensical.

I know. It's pretty awful for the environment, and the sort of thing you expect in front of a Nouveau Riche McMansion. The people who admire such things are the people who confuse expensive with tasteful

I know little about cars but it looks like a Tahoe to me. It was comfortable but that seems super expensive for a truck I personally would never assume costs that much and lacks luxury cachet.

In middle class flyover country this might be ritzy rig, but not in and and around Washington.

Luxury only if private school, lacrosse, and beach town stickers are on the back window.

You sound like a snob.

For $80K, its rear, rear quarter, and side profile do absolutely nothing for me. In black or white, it would just blend it with everything else large on the road; like a fed or rental car company fleet SUV. With a metallic paint, the ostentatious huge chrome grille says tarted up brash American SUV.

Compared to a $93K New Range Rover, which oozes elegance and $$$$$ from every angle, it seems like a rip-off. That said, the New Range Rover is probably more like $100K if you can even find one for sale, and 25% more dinero is not an insignificant sum.

You do know Buick for years is most reliable brand made. In 2022 KBB just pegged Chevy as third best problem free new car line.

Go one line car gurus and shocking amount of used Chevy and GMC trucks worth 200k to 300k miles
