I think Mayim Bialik talked about something like this on her podcast—the idea that she saves the special lotions, perfumes, candles, whatever—out of a sense that she doesn’t deserve them right now, it’s not special enough yet, etc. That motivated me to use my things more, because that’s what I bought them for. And I don’t need a special occasion or sense of worthiness to do so.
