How would you interpret this text from an ex?

I think he's regretting his decision. Tell him to call you or something. Iwouldnt do a coffee. J

Because it seems like childish game playing. Now, if you want childish game playing, complete with random photos, memes, probably some selfies, witty banter, running hot and cold, ambiguity, being stood up for plans because of “miscommunication,” triangulation with other people and things that he spends his time on other than you, then by all means go for it. This guy sounds like a master class in manipulation by text. But if you want to date an actual person with actual sincerity, then clugey Wine Bottle Mystery Man is not for you.

This! Read this a few times, OP. If he made a mistake and recognized he wants a committed relationship with you he’d say it. He would not need the wine as an excuse to reach out. So lazy, so dismissive to imply he wants to connect but you have to be the one to execute. You do not want someone like that. You deserve so much better.

real talk. You didn’t delete his number. So what do you want?

Y'all are so weird. Call the man back and ask him what he's talking about because we don't know, sis.

Last night, he sent me a pic of a wine bottle and glass of wine and said, "I think you got me this bottle! Not sure what stage of life you're at...a lot has changed for me! If you're up for a chat, let me know!"

Do you think he is implying that he's changed his mind about wanting a relationship with me, OR that he has moved on and gotten engaged o new job, etc and wants to tell me about it?

Bottom line, the woman you were 6 months ago wasn't worth committing to without an ultimatum. 'Nuf said.

"John, I'm still interested in a committed relationship. Have you changed your mind about that?" said over the phone, not text.

+1 million I think it’s a lame attempt to be romantic (with the wine bottle and sentiments). 🤮

+2 million

He wants a commitment.

A lot has changed; he said so.
Anonymous
I wouldn't care what's changed for him. I'd have moved on. Would ignore that text like I ignored the others.
Anonymous
Sounds like nothing has changed because he’s sending ambiguous noncommittal texts. But he thinks it has, which is worse.

This. And if he claims he now wants a committed relationship, date him for at least a mo th with no sex until you have sex with him again.

In my case, he decided he *did* want a committed relationship….except he didn’t act like it and I still caught him sneaking around.

Same here, he finally “wanted a relationship” but his actions didn’t match his words, plus yelling and manipulation.

He’s probably bored or hurt and needs attention from someone who can build his confidence and ego back up.

That’s playing games.

Since she dumped him he’s not gonna put all his cards on the table. OP, meet him. Maybe he’s changed his mind. Maybe you’ll realize you made the right decision and never want to talk to him again. There’s only one way to
find out.
