If you’re plus size, what are you wearing this summer?

When it gets warmer I'll switch to my Eddie Bauer curvy Bermuda shorts, which are an 11 inch inseam (so, mid thigh). I wear both with Lands End cotton v-neck tees, in size Large/Tall because I have a long torso.

I wear dresses to work, but not for casual wear.

Can you post links to dresses you wear/styles that work for your body? I am also an 18 on the bottom and I can never find dresses that look good on me.

Sure. I look for a flared skirt below a defined waist ("fit and flare") and a v-neck if possible. A faux wrap is a good bet. I cannot wear a true wrap, I have too much going on below the waist.

I have this one from Amazon, I wear an XXL: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GHNSYRQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

Faux wrap from Macys: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/dkny-womens-printed-faux-wrap-dress?ID=13837466&CategoryID=5449

Fit and flare from Macys, although I don't like the sleeves: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/dkny-twist-sleeve-fit-flare-dress?ID=13837416&CategoryID=5449

Shirt dress: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/dkny-womens-printed-faux-wrap-dress?ID=13837466&CategoryID=5449

Thank you do much for posting this, I could honestly cry. I needed a dress for Saturday and this is perfect. Thank you!! I bought the first one from Amazon.

Awesome! Hope you like it. I safety pin the neck for modesty FYI.

Well definitely NOT this!

Oh, well. Judge away, I don't care. Let me guess - you think fat people should stay at home where you don't have to see them, right?

Some of the dresses are cute but I have very few events to attend this summer. I only wear a dress if absolutely necessary.

I might try these pants this summer. Might be too baggy though?

I usually wear these or similar in various colors.

With a breezy top.

I used to buy clothes from Lands End for summer wear (shorts, tanks, loved their fit and flare dresses), but recently everything I’ve looked at in plus looks like something my grandma would wear. I realize I’m older than I used to be, but I don’t want to dress like grandma. But they do inclusive sizing and have a lot of options.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at brands that have expanded their sizing beyond traditional sizing, but I’ve also found that a lot of larger sizes are cut WAAAAY too low and have giant armholes. I might be fat but my boobs still need to be covered and while my arms are flabby I don’t want you to see my bra under my arms. I wish brands could figure out how to cut plus sizes. It’s not just bigger all over. Old Navy is a good example. I can try on almost everything in the store now, but most of it just looks like shit on me. I’ve had marginally better luck with brands like Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, etc. at Macys, but those are more for work clothes. I still struggle with weekend/vacation wear. I’m intrigued by the Kiyonna dress and am going to see if I can find it at Macys!

I bought this in pink and I am pleasantly surprised - I love it! I didn't have high hopes after reading all of the mixed reviews. They shipped it quickly, too, and I was able to wear it to a Mother's Day gathering today. Thanks for the rec!

Shirts, dresses and capris. Ventilation is important.

Dumb question--it seems really short. Do you wear something underneath besides underwear?

Clearly someone did because it’s completely sold out

That dress is so cute! It runs large. I purchased it myself in two colors!

I’m short, 52, with a belly, but really great legs, so I wear mini dresses and mini skirts as much as possible. I love Anthropologie, so here’s my summer haul from them…I’m size XL petite or Xl. I have found that many of their dresses run big.

DP. I have the same dress in other colors and only wore underwear underneath. It’s actually not as short as I had hoped.

ITA about Lands End. Everything is so frumpy now. I'm not sure what happened!

I wear a knee length, chino material A line skort (but the kind that looks a skirt even from the back) with regular v neck t-Shirts. I’m short and heavy and feel like this works better than sundresses for most casual places I go.

It wasn't as short as I feared. Today I wore it with tights and booties since it was chilly, but I will try it with bare legs and just underwear once it warms up again.

Thanks to you and to the pp who also mentioned it's not that short. I'll give it a try if it comes back in stock.

Seems to be in and out of stock. I just ordered the black and the red/purple and yellow are available.
