Question about Monday May 2nd

That’s insane. Our hs has hundreds of kids sitting for this exam.What if they’re sick? They’ve studied all year for it. If that’s the policy, they should have arranged for the test to go as planned on May 2.

We were told that nobody would be available to open and staff the school in order for kids to sit the test. Guess you can’t require someone to work on a day off. They also mentioned the issue of transportation, because some kids might not have a way to get to the test if buses aren’t running that day.

They did say if you had some reason you wouldn’t be able to take it on the makeup day, they would arrange for you to take it on the 2nd with the rest of the country. But I’m not sure what those arrangements would be (send you to a site in another school system?), or whether “I might be sick on the makeup date” would be considered a valid reason.

Huh? 12 month employees are working at schools. AP testing is still happening at our HS on May 2.

Interesting. I’m a teacher at a different high school and I have to proctor during one of my planning periods.

AP testing is happening at SOME HS on May 2, but definitely not all. Read the thread.
