I like this idea and I think you're right but I feel so down - and there is nowhere to go (I'm not in the US).
I see friends occasionally but afterwards it's back to being alone and sad.



The above is not OP. Thanks everyone for your kind words. I am considering joining a church, if I can find an ultra-liberal one - think a sense of community and acts of service might be helpful.


Try Episcopal or Unitarian churches. Good luck to you.

How is this nasty? It is true. If you are lucky to make it to your 80s/90s you will have experienced a lot of death of loved ones. It is life. My 92 yr old mom says almost everyone the knows that would be around her age have passed on. It is life. She said 60 is young and don’t worry about it now. Enjoy your mobility and time.
