| Have you done a day trip to Luray Caverns? |
|
One year for spring break, we did things around here we normally don't have time to do. We enjoyed the Maryland Science Center. I'd also consider doing the National Aquarium the same day.

| no one cares |
Thank you! WWIII is happening and there's a pandemic that killed 1 million Americans. Having to cancel spring break is not a problem in the least! Your kids will be fine. |
| You might want to plan just a few rest days. Not everyone wants to run, run, run. |

Geez! What’s with all the commentary? OP wasn’t complaining; she just asked for suggestions.
I keep looking at this thread because I, too, am trying to come up with some hood activities, and instead it’s a bunch of busybodies dissecting OP’s imagined life. |
| Do they like sports? The Nats season is starting next week, but there also is college and minor league baseball which can be quite fun to watch. |
|
-Calvert Cliffs State Park or another fossil-hunting location.
-Fort Washington Park/Piscataway Park— interesting fort & basically never crowded. -Zoo -bluebell trail at Bull Run Park -Harper’s Ferry |
Op didn’t ask for your opinion on if she should take the vacation, pathetic PP. |
| Why not just go on a road trip? I don’t work and just take the kids on road trips often. |
But where do you go and what do you do? Sitting in a car for hours with cranky kids is hell for me. |
Quoting myself. I ended up booking 2 nights with an indoor pool. Their spring break was this week and the weather didn’t cooperate for the day trips. They are swimming a lot, hanging out here and we are still going out to eat. It’s more about the pool than where we actually are and just doing something that didn’t feel like sitting at home. I looked at local hotels, extended stays and some Airbnb’s all within 3-4 hours of a drive and then we picked one that we all liked. We are there now. |
