While I’d also hire someone to stay with the kids, it’s not a good look calling people idiots. And really unnecessary. |
It’s also not a great look to try and censor other people’s speech.....Free speech only exists when people can say things you don’t agree with. |
DP. Try not to use free speech to defend being a d!ck. No one is telling you you can't disagree, just that it doesn't look good to be unnecessarily nasty. |
| Honestly, if they don't need to get to soccer games or another parent can take them then your kids probably can stay alone for one night. No one will be harmed if they eat cereal and hotdogs for one day. |
| $100 a night, what? $50 plus meals, really now. |
That's not much. At least $200 if they can afford it |
If you can’t take it, don’t dish it out. |
1) free speech doesn’t include being shielded from the consequences of your speech 2) censorship under the first amendment only concerns the government acting as a censor. Amazing how misused this term is. |

The two older siblings are not going to watch or pay attention to the youngest sibling. That's usually the case.
I would pay $100 because that rate will probably go up soon the next time you ask him. Make sure you state your house rules. such as godson's buddies hang out at the house, no parties at all or no parties after dark. Ask him how he will handle and keep the kids entertain in the day time. You just want to get a feel on how he thinks. What if they all go on the screen all day long. Are there rules about that? If one of the kids want to hang out with their friends, is that allowed. |
| I think it depends a little on your HHi, your godson’s financial situation and your family norms. I would have done this for free for family at that age because that’s the way my family is. But I’d say $100 if your HHI is less than 100K, $250 if your HHI is over 500K and otherwise somewhere in between. |

I used to do this when I was 18-22 and in college, for my cousins who were 10-16ish. My aunt and uncle paid me $100/day and I drove their car since I didn’t have one. It was fun and I had a lot of freedom when the kids were in school or activities. I did have to get up super early to take one cousin to the early bus for his school etc.
for a single overnight today I would probably do $200. For me this was 20 years ago! |

A professional would likely charge $500-800 for this. I would pay your godson at least $250.
However, depending on the personalities involved, it is very likely that at 21 year old will allow your 15 year old throw a party. |
