My DD was rejected after an EA deferral two years ago. It was her first choice and there were so many tears. She is also very happy where she is. Hugs to all. |
Rejected. Makes me (and perhaps him) feel better to know that he could have been better than 95% of the applicants (to MIT!) and still not have gotten in. |
+1. No BS |
Congrats! Stats please? |
Have your DD apply EA and have fantastic responses to the short essays. Both matter. |
Thanks and what about ECA’s? |
DS accepted! So happy for him, was his dream school. Any questions, happy to answer. |
Congrats to your DC!! Indeed an achievement! Please share some stats. My DD is a junior applying to MIT hopefully early next year My older son was WL in Caltech 3 years back and then accepted. He also got RD into Princeton which was way better for him. |
DD +1 accepted |
Congrats! Has your son sent anything to Caltech to help him get accepted from WL? |
I was really hoping for good news today. But knowing my son, he’s not going to tell us about the rejections until he gets in somewhere exciting or has heard back from everywhere (he’s in at some good public universities, but we’re waiting on the more competitive schools.) |
Saw this on a forum:
DS got in MIT! Usamo, usajmo Rank 1/300 Sat 1600, a few subject tests 800 11 +4 ap all 5 with those tested Research in university, present in conferences Swimming team captain Concert master Sci oly, science bowl |
Congrats! What's your DS stats? |
I was thinking the same. Stop this nonsense, People. It stinks when our kids don't get in, but let's not try to make a scapegoat here. Top schools could fill their classes many times over. They chose who they want. It is not an indictment on your kid or the process. |
Very sorry. Hugs to your kid. |
