What makes you think God cares?

Do you think everybody should live to a certain age? What age is that?

pp didn't mention a "certain age" - just suggested that God appears to think that it's OK for a little kid to get cancer.

And die, in many cases. How cruel is that?

You are the hands, heart, and voice of your creator. You are an eternal spiritual being having a temporary physical experience on this earth. We are here to learn and to grow. We always have free will. Your creator cares about you just like you care for your own children and for others. Your heart hurts for the people of Ukraine just as God’s does. Our job is to learn to be more loving, more compassionate, more forgiving. The only way we can do that is through difficulty. Nothing grows on top of the mountain. It’s deep in the valleys where real growth occurs.

Your higher self exists separately. You dispatched this part of yourself to earth for the purpose of your soul growth.

Just my thoughts 💫

Is the bolded above a metaphor for "it doesn't count unless it really hurts?" If so, then the people of Ukraine will really be in good condition when the war ends -- if they're not already dead and don't care if their homes are destroyed.

God is not a puppeteer manipulating us. God is with us and in us. We don't always see or hear God in ourselves or in others. But sometimes, we can connect with others and show them grace and love as God wants us to. And sometimes, we are shown grace by others. For this grace, I am most grateful.

Just your thoughts, but you say them as if they are factual.

and who cares if God's heart "Hurts for the people of Ukraine". He's God -- he could stop the damn war. And when it does stop -- he'll get the credit.

that isn't God's job!

That’s right. It’s not in God’s job description. If we’re going to ask Him to help people we must up his salary.

In other words, God can't really do anything, but it's nice to know that there's a big guy looking over us and sometimes we can even give him credit for the good things that we do ourselves, or have done to us.

The bad things come from somewhere else.

Maybe the grace doesn't come from God. Maybe you're just a naturally good person - and some other people are too.

The Book of Job

+1. Also, not to be cliche, but John 3:16.

God has intervened in my life a number of times, which indicates to me he/she cares.
