| Wow, this state had really been barreling down lefty lane. Now this weird right turn. |
Close, but minus the hyperbole, the original TJ bill was to give smart kids from families that don't prioritize education a better chance. The asian-american objection to it was that no one ever cared when TJ was mostly white. That's what made it racist from my perspective. I think many white conservatives also dislike the dumbing down of education for social justice motivations. And honestly, that's what it was. To all you white liberals out there, try thinking about how you can give up your own privileges to help poor minorities, instead of someone else's privileges. |
| It is amazing how much Republicans really hate Blacks and Hispanics. Just despise them to the core of their being. |
And poor people. |
No they just don’t pander to a particular group for political gain. |
| actually it is the white liberals who feel they need to uplift minorities, the republicans and centrists give minorities enough due to treat them equally as everyone else and trust that they can achieve well if they put their minds to. |
LOL. That’s hilarious. “CRT” “parents can ban books” “advanced math will be banned” |
Right. That’s the only reason why low-income and URMs aren’t “achieving well”. They just aren’t “putting their minds to it”. |
The Democrats control the state senate. |
And that justified you racist mobs for bullying and robbery of another group? |
You do realize this was already illegal? And nobody used race as a factor. |
Try to understand proxy discrimination, you racist dumbass! |
Chap Petersen has gone full-on whore now, I see. Holistic admissions are good. Equal opportunity is good. If the school is overrun by cram-school Asians who end up needing remedial education once they arrive, that is not good. Having representation of all races are good — the admissions standards themselves discriminate in favor of Asians. That’s not good. |
Robbery? Your sense of entitlement is repulsive. |
Providing access to kids who don't go to wealthy middle schools is really horrible.
