Erica, Erin, Natalie and Carrie were my friends growing up, born in 1975. So maybe these names are coming back again? Omg, I am an old lady.
Natalie is the standout here, I think it's a timeless beauty. |

| Erin and Erica are dated. Carrie is a nickname. I just don't really like Natalie but it's the best out of the four IMO. |
well, she isn't spelling it that way. so why bring it up? |
Friends had both a Susan and an Erica...in the 90s and early 2000s though. |

I think Susan is a pretty name
How Evelyn and Eleanor are considered fresh and Erica and Erin dated and ugly, I will never get (yes, yes-I know about name cycles, but honestly…) Erica and Erin fit in just fine with a bunch of the other names in heavier rotation right now. My daughter has a Kendra in her class |
Evelyn and Eleanor sound vintage and charming, because most of us (millennials) did not grow up with anyone with these names. We did grow up with Ericas and Erins, whether they be peers/moms/family friends. People don't like giving their children the names of people they grew up with, which is why there are very few little Ashleys, Michelles, Jennifers, Jessicas, and Emilys. |
| I love Erica and Erin. I really hate the currently overused names so either Erica or Erin feels fresh to me. I am younger than most of the mothers here though and wasn’t alive in the 1980s or most of the 1990’s. |
as I said, I understand name cycles. That is different than "OMG,SOOOO dated" My grandma was a Dorothy and that is apparently making a comeback. But, yeah, Erica and Erin - so yuck ;P |

They have an 80s vibe to me, as in… I know Moms in my friend group (we have 6 year old kids) with 3 of these names. All born in the 80s. That’s not a bad thing, but it’s just the way they feel to me.
I like Erin the most with the ONE caveat that I know an Erin who married an Aaron. Sort of unlikely, but potentially problematic. |
well, you are much younger than me (I'm actually done having kids, I just love this board for the name threads), but your naming style sounds a lot like mine. I tended towards names that were more popular in the 80s/90s (the names of my generation) because I steered away from the currently more popular/oversaturated names. But I honestly don't think my kids' names are out of sync with their classmates. I do think it helps that we are in a very diverse community - lots of first gen immigrants in our area who seem to like the names of my generation, as well (if they don't use names from their culture/country). I've met a Tiffany, an Amber, a Brenda...I could go on. |

I have a Natalie. I had that name picked out since college.
Nathalie Windsor sounds great, OP (whatever your W name is!) |
Saying a name “sounds dated” is different from saying it’s bad. I think Erin and Erica are perfectly lovely names. They don’t excite me because, yes, they feel very dated to a time I lived through and remember. Do my response is “meh”. Again, not the same as saying I dislike a name. |
I love Carrie. It was in our list

I get your point but just wanted to say you’re wrong about there being very few little Emilys. Emily is still in the top 20 in the country as of last year. |
