Anyone backed by the teachers union is a union shill. They will expect her to support their positions on the BOE in exchange for their endorsement which, unfortunately, still carries a lot of weight in Montgomery County. I think most parents have woken up to the toxic nature of MCEA's effect on the schools. But most people without kids still have no idea and simply vote for whomever is on the Apple ballot. |
Honestly, given this forum's recent thread on bullying, its probably time to give it a rest on Steve Austin. He's gone; you guys sound like a little crazy when you keep bringing him up |
| I think she makes a valid point in the article that the current board members don't have much (recent) experience in elementary schools, while she brings 32 years' worth to the table. |
When did the union endorse her? PP above was speculating. |
We can stop bringing him up when he closes his FB group. |
But is it even his group anymore (honestly asking). I assume someone else has taken it over since his departure |
Frederick is perfect for him. That seems to be where a lot of the ReOpen Facebook group leaders are fleeing to after not getting their way while in MoCo. Now they have houses made of cheap siding way out in the sticks and an inferior educational system. What a win.
|
My bad. I retract the shill comment and nerf it to "person with close teacher's union ties." I think my point still stands though not as tall. |
So Austin has a new house in Frederick County and a rent-free place in your head. That worked out quite well for him. |
Thank god! |
DP.. I wasn't a huge fan of his, but you know... the vast majority of people live in houses with "cheap siding". Most people in MoCo aren't wealthy. I think you are the type of person that ordinary people call "elitist". -signed someone who lives in a $900K house in MoCo, but grew up lower/MC. |
Wow. Just wow. You should try meditation. Also, I don't think he was a ReOpen leader? Or, at least he wasn't publicly. But again, wow. |
Yea! Does anyone know when Apple ballot will be making endorsements? I'll vote for anyone they pick who's not an incumbent. |
As of now, none of the BOE races have met the threshold to be included in the June primary (at least 3 candidates in a race). So if the election isn't until November, they have more time to make endorsements. |
I get it, but I’m willing to take a chance on her over Wolff at this point. And the fact that she has more recent experience in MCPS is a plus for me, some of the current members are out of touch. |
