I like the latter. Is this the book about the woman who lost her kid?? I loved Gone Girl until I got to the sucky ending. I love Ruth Ware’s storytelling, her books I cannot put down. Until they are finished. 👍🏽 |
| ^^ I meant the FORMER. |

Then She Was Gone by Leslie Jewel
Ruth Ware novels are good |
| A little bit old school, but I love the Dismas Hardy series by John Lescroart. |
|
It doesn’t come out til August but Complicit is really good (I got an advance copy).
The Silent Patient Disaster Tourist |
| The Chestnut man has been turned into a series- it's on Netflix. The promo looks good, makes me want to read the book. |
|
Anything by Ruth Ware or Lisa Jewell. Just read Verity by Colleen Hoover and it was great. Also:
In Five Years Greenwich Park The Sanitorium |
I liked The Wife Upstairs, too. I was surprised it had gotten such bad reviews. I also really enjoyed The Plot. |
| I don’t read many thrillers, but I did happen to read Deep Water by Patricia Highsmith. It was intense at the end. |
|
Relic - Preston and Child
The Doomsday Book - Willis Iron Lake - Krueger The Tourist - Steinhauer The Man with a Load of Mischief- Grimes The Kill Artist - Silva Sharp Objects - Flynn |
| Slippery Creatures, by KJ Charles |
I have Verity on my shelf to read next! The reviews are so mixed. I really want to like it. |
I went on a Patricia Highsmith kick several years ago and maybe read every book she wrote. For those who don't know, she wrote "The Talented Mr. Ripley." Ripley stars in several books, but there are even more that don't. "Strangers on a Train" is another famous one adapted for film. |
Reading this now. Not done yet. I agree with you about the sex being absurd (major eye rolls). But imo the writing only teeters on terrible. It's not soooo bad that I need to stop reading it. |
| I just finished The Chain by Adrian McKinty and loved it. |
