I love the Fox & O'Hare series! I got them as audio books from the library. So much fun! |
I’m the first pp who said it was disappointing. I’d rate it a 2 or so. |
You guys might also like the Finlay Donovan books. |
|
Last: Elizabeth is Missing. A little repetitive but I liked it.
Current: The Push. Not as thrilling as I hoped. Next: Verity or House on the Cerulean Sea |
|
Current: The Christie Affair.
Next: The Ballerinas ? Or Lisa Scottoline’s new book. |
I gave myself nightmares reading Verity then The Push too close together - but maybe it’s your preferred genre! |

Sort of book related: I was very sorry to hear that Dr. Paul Farmer died today.
One of my fave books is about him - Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder. https://www.amazon.com/Mountains-Beyond-Tracy-Kidder/dp/0812973011/ref=nodl_ |
NP. It's my preferred genre. Please recommend more nightmare educing reads. |
*inducing. (Don't kill me.) |
I was worried about that. I tend to be picky about thrillers and I devoured No Exit!! |
If those two books are your jam, you should read Baby Teeth. Also, if you aren't opposed to a book with every trigger warning you can think of, I recommend Whispers and the Roars by K. Webster. It's one of the most f'ed up books I've ever read but in the very best way. |
Thanks! I've read Baby Teeth. I'm all about the most F'd up books. My life is super boring so triggering books are how I get my excitement. I'm downloading it on my Kindle now. |
|
Last: The Glass Hotel, by Emily St. John Mandel. Didn't love it. I thought Station Eleven was much better.
Current: The Dogs of Riga, a murder mystery by Henning Mankell (Book #2 of the Kurt Wallander series). I'm really into Scandinavian noir lately. Next: The White Lioness, book #3 in the Kurt Wallander series. Or, if someone returns their copy to the library soon, The Maid by Nita Prose. |
|
Last: Emily’s House
Current: A Net for Small Fishes Next: Oh William |
Please report back. I've enjoyed all the reactions from friends who read it because of my recommendation. |
