She was taken for $60k by Delvey.

Yet she was also happy to accept thousands of dollars worth of meals and beauty treatments from Anna up until the point Rachel VOLUNTEERED her card. You shouldn’t volunteer to give something you can’t afford to lose, really.

Anna gambled big with money she didn’t have in an effort to achieve something big, while Rachel comes off as a vapid girl whose interests are gossip, socialising, and fashion only (in Rachel’s book and the series). Rachel’s interviews that she did 1+ years ago, which I watched on YouTube after reading her book, made her seem like an airhead.

I have more respect for Anna.

I'm not saying she wasn't a victim of a crime, I'm saying don't complain about a tv show when you wrote a book, and then sold the rights to a book to a, wait for it, a TV SHOW.

Rachel is a grifter too, but she’s more of a low-level, garden variety grifter, kind of like the friend we’ve all had who never really paid her way or reciprocated after allowing friends to pay her share for dinners, etc.

Consider: if Anna’s loan money had gone through and she’d been able to secure the building and start her art center/club, all evidence indicates that the idea was good enough to succeed. She would have been hailed a wunderkind financial genius. Rachel was never going to achieve much and was simply happy to ride on Anna’s coattails for freebies.

I am hate-watching the series. It’s so bad but I cant turn it off. I agree w the above posters I do have some weird respect for Anna over Rachel.

The actress playing Rachel looks like the girls’ mom. Weird choice for casting. The real Rachel Williams is very pretty and much younger than the actress.

On Episode 3 - having a REALLY tough time with Julia Garner's horrible accent. They must have been filming this at the same time as Ozark because I swear she floats in and out of Ruth's character throughout this series.

I want to LOVE it, but can't give it more than 3 stars.

Are we supposed to like Rachel? My wife and I both hate her after episode one. Zero redeeming qualities. Without any protagonist in the series it's hard to watch. Just a bunch of dislikable annoying people...

And not just her accent! The rapid eye blinking that is so Ruth Langmore - Ann is also doing it! Listen, I'm gonna keep watching but only because it's Julia Garner.

I've only seen a trailer, so I'll have to actually watch the real thing, but it seemed like Julia Garner's accent was a mashup of Ruth and some weird Euro-trash accent.

I read an interview where she admitted she had trouble keeping the accents straight because she was filming Ozark at the same time. She's an amazing actress, but nobody hits homeruns every time.

Someone should write that show. I'd watch it!! LOL. (Seriously, Ruth should get her own spin-off once Ozark ends. She's a fantastic character.)
