OP already said the kid’s best fit is CP. it sounds more like OP’ dream wife isn’t enough. OP wants a dream wife at home - and be to play on the side. |
|
Deep breaths, OP. I kind of think your kid is in the most awkward spot of all. Not the tippy top, but very, very good stats that make them think they should get in everywhere. And maybe they should be having better luck. The current environment is brutal. I hope he will be really happy wherever he lands.

Ranked better than Clemson overall and even more so for the program which is direct admit in most cases. Why on earth do you need to crap on other people's schools? The point is that the OP shouldn't feel bad in the least. In a normal year, OP's kid would have been admitted at most or all of the schools to which he applied. |
Do you realize Wisconsin is about $56,000 a year for OOS? They don’t give financial aid to OOS kids either. |
Why? Because you say so? It is absolutely a top school. |
Apparently PP is one of those folks for whom the only top schools are HYS. |
|
Let’s see…
Tulane is ranked #42 with 11% admissions rate Clemson is ranked #75 with a 62% admissions rate I get that some people always gotta hate on Tulane, but this isn’t even a close call. |
| I know it's hard OP but he got into UMD CP and that is a solid school. I know it can feel like all the work they did was for naught but in the grand scheme of things, he can transfer or attend a more prestigious university for grad school if he wants. Not much to do at this point since the apps are done. Can he still apply to Pitt or are they closed? |
| OP, I feel for him. It sounds like he did not have safeties. What were his safeties? |
The bigger issue is they had 1 likely UMCP. All reaches is the biggest problem with kids these days. |
That’s awesome, PP. Good for him. Just out of curiosity, where did he decide to go? |
when you say he has no choices, but you also said he was deferred from places... has he heard a rejection from every other school? or does he still have some outstanding? |
That's a pretty small world. That's like one (or maybe zero) kid in his graduating class. |
It's significantly more difficult to get into than Clemson, which was the point being made. |
|
Real curious what is going to happen to my son and all his peers in April. So far so, so many deferrals for everyone.
Be glad you and your son have such a great in state option, were smart enough to apply, and lucky enough to get in! |
