Macron has replaced Biden overnight

Russia has started pulling troops from belarus, so there is that.

+1. This is good news. Let Europeans keep stepping up to take the lead in Europe. US has another set issues to deal with in the pacific theater they need to focus on. The US can continue to support Europeans via NATO while Europeans continue to build their capacity.

Agree! The U.S. should not have to be the police for the whole world

If you let Europe take the lead Russian talks would role through the entire eastern block. They may let them take a few EU countries like Romania and Poland before they actually maybe act.

Did you read my comment? US will support via NATO. No way that Russia roles through a NATO country.

EU should start putting their money where their mouth is where it comes to defense and things like their dependence on Russian gas. Until we see that, along with Macron convincing Germany to take a much more aggressive posture against Russia, Macron isn't "leading" anything.

Of course. Europe must continue to build capacity, as I mentioned. I do not agree with Trump on much but he was right to call out NATO allies for their failures to meet defense spending commitments.

Do you guys mean "roll"? I don't understand how "role" fits in this context.

Macron has now positioned himself as the most important person in the western world dealing with Russia. It just goes to show how the world doesn't take Biden seriously. His administration is huffing and puffing every single day pumping mass hysteria, meanwhile Macron behaves like a true world leader and is basically saying let's at least give peace a chance. At least we have a leader somewhere with a cool head. Biden is appearing more and more feckless by the day while US influence and hegemony wanes at a precipitous rate.

This is a Europe problem and it's quite appropriate that Europe is dealing with it.

America has such a sense of entitlement to bossing other countries around, it acts positively stunned that somehow they can button their own trousers.

Um that is what we said when Hitler rolled into Poland. And when the USSR took Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Reasonable diplomacy is to be applauded. But how do we know that Biden isn't leading from behind?

Allies? Trump wanted to abandon NATO allies completely and would have done so if he had won in 2020. https://news.yahoo.com/trump-planning-withdraw-us-nato-183526580.html

Literally nobody cares about Ukraine you moron. President Biden is focusing on getting this pandemic under control and fixing our economy unlike your Cheeto messiah.

I’m a DP

1) EVERYONE cares about Ukraine. You’re like the people who said, “Meh, no one cares about the Sudetenland.”

2) Criticizing Biden doesn’t mean supporting Trump. Stop thinking like a five year old. Biden is a useless president. He’s totally underestimating Putin. If you can’t articulately debate that without invoking Trump, move on.

The war has started. How many days do you give Ukraine before it falls to Putin? Then, which country is next (and don’t say Belarus as that country is already Russian for all intents and purposes).

I don’t think it’s which country is next, more what does Putin do with his new found territory and how bad is that for the folks now under his thumb. I imagine a few thousand enemies get executed.
