Macron has replaced Biden overnight

Wow, look at that......Macron going around Europe meeting with Germany and Poland to seek a diplomatic path with Russia. Macron has now positioned himself as the most important person in the western world dealing with Russia. It just goes to show how the world doesn't take Biden seriously. His administration is huffing and puffing every single day pumping mass hysteria, meanwhile Macron behaves like a true world leader and is basically saying let's at least give peace a chance. At least we have a leader somewhere with a cool head. Biden is appearing more and more feckless by the day while US influence and hegemony wanes at a precipitous rate.

So, you are saying that Macron has achieved peace in our time?

Where is Biden? If Ukraine is such a crisis, then why isn't he over in Europe galvanizing the west? Just admit it, he is too old and simply cannot do it. His acquity at this age also makes him a liability.

I sleep great knowing Biden is in charge.
Seems like he has handled the situation appropriately.

Literally nobody cares about Ukraine you moron. President Biden is focusing on getting this pandemic under control and fixing our economy unlike your Cheeto messiah.

He just met with the German Chancellor yesterday. He has been on the phone with Putin and many other leaders. Here is another possible explanation for Macron suddenly becoming so active:

https://www.euractiv.com/section/global-europ...-to-settle-in-euros/

Russia has agreed a 30-year contract to supply gas to China via a new pipeline and will settle the new gas sales in euros, bolstering an energy alliance with Beijing amid Moscow’s strained ties with the West over Ukraine and other issues.

Notice that the currency being used is Euros. That will strengthen the Euro which is something Macron must surely desire. So, the last thing Macron would want is anything to disrupt that.

I wonder if OP even gets that reference.

I’m not op and I get it but I’m ok with macron’s moves.

Treating Russia with respect is a good thing for all parties

I'm glad someone across the pond has stepped up. Macron has, over the years, nicely filled Merkel's shoes. Europe does need to negotiate and keep Russia at bay. They cannot deal with Moscow militarily. Given the shared borders with Russia, Putin is also likely to listen to European voices. After all, they are his direct customers when it comes to oil and gas. This should be viewed as a great act of delegation by the US.

Imagine if Trump had been around.. One of two things would have happened. Ukraine and Taiwan would have been toast with Orange Boy making all the right noises but doing nothing OR OB would have been yelling at screaming at Macron for stealing the limelight. Glad that's not the situation.

A few weeks ago Repos were flipping out that Biden was overseas.

Let’s be honest; you don’t care about anything except tearing down the Democrats, frequently to “respect the Russians.”

I thought Republicans were anti-NATO.

French person here. I love Macron, and he is indeed a good leader, but you’re painting too rosy a picture here.

He’s up for re-election this spring. He is playing the incumbent advantage full throttle, since his rivals don’t have access to the international stage. If he is seen by the French as moving the needle towards peace, even if ultimately Russia still invades Ukraine at some point *after* the election, it’s a huge political win at home.

Of course, he also does truly see himself as a European uniter, and he was always seen as the person to replace Merkel in EU stature, and better than her when it comes to Russia, since misogynist Putin took pains to belittle Merkel. So Macron is also doing what’s expected of him… just in his own suave way

Biden also negotiated the deal to get Qatar gas to Europe so they wouldn't care about Nordstream or other Russian sources.

OP is really clueless.

I think it's great that several allied leaders are pursuing similar lines of diplomacy against Russia.
