No you don’t. If you want to waste your money be my guest.

Even a few dollars would be good. They do help expedite your order.

Pro tip - call in your order

Pro tip, they have caller id, so next time you order planning to skip tip, enjoy that natural saliva flavor.

The issue is it’s not just food prices, the restaurant industry now has to account for PPE.
Basic cooking oil prices are up of 270%, cost of cooking gloves are over 200%. At some point the customer has a face facts it will result in higher food prices.

They still have to put it in and package it. I hope things there is something missing next time you opt to not add a buck or two.

We just got takeout from Sweetwater, and I tipped 20% and it was about $48 for three dishes.

Lol have you gone recently, nothing is less than 22 a meal unless it's a sandwich, it's outrageous now. Why would you tip? You tip for service , that tip is going to big corp on takeout.

Then the restaurants should pay the workers enough to not make us play this game of who's going to tip the most. If I eat at the same restaurant as OP I'm basically subsidizing OP's lack of tipping. The restaurant industry needs to shape up or ship out. Maybe they deserve to fail

Agree that they should include the tip in the price. But that will just increase the price do you end up in the same place. 2 Amy’s did that. I prefer it because I know going in exactly what it’s going to cost.

Service sucks right now. Restaurants are a hassle with the masks and proof of vax. We're doing Chipotle, LebTav, pizza but no casual or fine dining. Sad. I miss it.

We don’t eat out much anymore except for getting pizza. I would be ok with slightly higher prices if the food was good, but our favorite restaurants give really crappy food when doing take out.

Who are all these people that tip on carry out?

You call and order Chinese they run your card at pickup.
You don’t tip. Same for any other carry out. That’s part of business.

You only tip for table service or delivery.

A fool is quickly parted from their money.

I have always tipped 20% on everything but I can’t do it anymore, I just can’t afford it. I can’t even take my kids to McDonalds without wincing anymore.

People don't tip on carry out? Damn that's cold.
