Technically', most Asians' DNA test will return a small amount of native American blood. Is this what we are reduced to, being technically correct?

I'm Eastern European and have some Asian DNA. It's from the arrival, during the Iron Age, of the civilizations similar to the ones from East Asia / Siberia.

No personal disrespect intended but why the F are cuban kids getting special treatment? Insane! Can't wait for the Supreme Court to take down this sh*t!

So assuming any of this is true, the OP is making a huge assumption that it was that checked box that got the student in...not strength of her essay, or recommendations, or ECs. Just the box.

And you are also assuming that it was the box that helped your son. Not any of his qualifications that may have better than others who also checked that box.

I am not shocked as i know many kids probably lie but this just shows how rigged the system itself is. The entire school was surprised that this kid got in ED and now we know. Wow! I am guessing thats how colleges achieve their diversity goal.. admitting fake native Americans and hispanics.

Smart kid/smart family. Assuming they truly are what they claim to be, they were smart enough to take advantage of this opportunity. Assuming they lied, well, they were smart enough to game a stupid, immoral system.

As an aside, while I get and appreciate the need to provide these admission benefits to Native Americans of the United States, why should anything at all be done for those of Mexican heritage? Enlighten me please..

No one is saying anything should be done for anyone. But if the admissions are based on race like they are then misrepresentation of race and ethnicity is not helping anyone except the ones lying. The race and ethnicity should not be on the applications

Mexico is in North America.

NP here. OMG. The OP said that Mexicans have a mix of Native American blood from all over Americas. There are still tribes within Mexico who speak a Mayan language, similar to other tribes in Central America. Do you think the Mayans cared about the current Mexican borders and reproduced strictly 1 mile from the border? Their civilization pretty much covered all Central America's NW, from Mexico to Nicaragua. This is elementary school material in FFX.

Elementary school kids should also be aware that all of Central America is considered a part of NorthAmerica. This includes all areas all the way down to the Darien province of Panama. .

Your son is Hispanic.

It is not smart to lie.

I hope that your child has better values than you.

Are you sure the kid didn't just say this as a joke? I can't believe that anyone would do something that openly fraudulent in these very heavily scrutinized times.

It's frustrating but a good sign that life isn't always fair and that this process has very little integrity to it. Better to carry yourself with dignity and only worry about yourself. Eventually your child will be better off. It's the school's loss.

If true, the college counselor should be on this.

Too bad me or my kids qualify for any of this nonsense. The whole system is a sham. If there was a way around it for us, we'd take it. No shame is sticking it to a system that's trying to f**k you over. My kids are aware of that.

You ignorant. 95% of Mexicans have at least 20% Native American DNA

There is no such thing as Native American DNA. Are you talking about Indians?
