Rash of Hollywood 'kid' suicides

It's hard being the relative of a celeb.

I think it is even more difficult to be the offspring of a celeb. Unless you accomplish something as great as your famous parent, people tend to view you as a failure who just mooches off their money. Then if and when you do accomplish anything for yourself, people think it's only because of your parent's influence and money.

You're fricking ghouls for speculating why these people died and to the poster who's saying "they're not kids" because they are over 18. Do you have children? Do they ever stop being your child? No. Now go away.

Otherwise, why bother?

You need to put the time into your kids, not just money and if its a genetic/real mental health issue don't just wish it away and get them help, hospitalize them if you have to.

Sinead's kid was actually hospitalized. He ran away

Was thinking the same thing. No matter what you accomplish it’s nothing compared to a parent who won an Oscar or a Grammy and made millions. Similar thing in this area with super-successful parents and mediocre kids they don’t understand.

The take away is that being rich or famous doesn’t make you immune to the tragedies of life. If you and yours are healthy and happy, be glad about that. Very glad!

She was raped by a priest, her mother helped cover it up, the Pope picture she burned was the one on her moms wall.

Generational trauma is real.

I don't think anyone meant the grief is any lessened. But that the study talking about kids' mental health probably doesn't apply. It doesn't mean that the same factors aren't in play, but these cases - these absolutely tragic cases - aren't necessarily explained by a study that looked at much younger people.

They are not “kids” statistically so you can’t “blame” it on COVID because suicide rates in their age range are down during COVID.

Is Michael Madsen the actor who played Susan Sarandon's love interest in Thelma and Louise?

They are to blame for parenting but at some point adults are responsible for their own behavior and actions.

There hasn't been a single US President who is Gen X. They're not the problem.

It is all just fear based. If these people with all their power and money can’t keep their kids alive what might happen to mine? I agree it is distasteful but it is coming from a place of fear and they are trying to reassure themselves. This is no different than when someone dies of cancer people speculate about their lifestyle choices. It makes them feel safer to think it can be controlled.

The death of one person is a tragedy, the death of a million is a statistic. I don’t think it is necessarily a bad thing that these tragic incidents may bring more awareness of depression and mental health issues.
