| I have a friend whose husband was drugged by a drink from their upscale resort bar. He literally had one drink, lost consciousness and didn’t remember the next 8-12 hrs. That story did it for me. Plus, my Mexican friends use a bodyguard anytime they visit home. |
And why do you think he was there??? |
| We cancelled not so much because we thought that we would be the ones to get shot but because I like to be able to let my kids run free at an all-inclusive and I would have been feeling like I would need to keep tabs on everyone in my family at all times in case there was a lockdown, which did not sound very relaxing. Plus I checked the weather in FL and it was going to be 80 degrees and sunny there too when we were scheduled to travel and so we made a last minute switch. |

I wouldn’t. We love Mexico and have gone many times in the past.
We recently went to Hawaii instead. I personally would just stick to Florida if I were you. |
Where did you decide to stay in FL? Wondering what we could switch to that might be somewhat similar. |
Is this one or two people posting all the fear stuff? |
I disagree with this poster. I’m a single woman who manages to get myself in and out of Cancun without a personal swat team |

Np here, we were supposed to go to Cancun a few years back, before COVID but ultimately canceleddue to cartels, and learning about the concerns the alcohol was fake and tainted. During our research we saw pictures of arm guards walking the beach through crowds of couples and families. A few others in our party decided to still go, while they remained safe, they stayed at the resort the entire time, armed guards were everywhere and two of the girls got very ill after one drink.
I’d rather spend a bit more money and go elsewhere. Who can relax at these resorts under these circumstances? |
