Yup it’s not a hotel stay the robe you wear will be the last thing on your mind.

I disagree! I don’t think fashion should be a concern but I loved having comfortable items of my own to wear after delivery.

Agree. I appreciated having a robe to put on when I got out of bed instead of relying on their flimsy gowns for covering up!

Who cares about covering up? You are bleeding, sore, tits out, milk flowing through your clothes. The last thing I cared about was a nurse seeing the back of my ass.

That’s nice for you, but I prefer my ass to be unviewed.

You have to stay in the hospital for 24-48hrs after delivery. Get out of that grubby delivery gown and put on something fresh and comfortable. No need to suffer through wandering around with a chilly bum.

Two vaginal deliveries and I never stained the sheets, pajamas or robe. The pads and cold packs they gave me were amazing and they told me to keep switching them out every couple of hours (or more). I credit the GWUH PP nurses.

I delivered in early summer both times so didn't need a robe to stay warm. The hospital temperature was pleasant.

Same. I bled a lot both times and soaked through the pads so I would have wrecked a robe. I also don't really like wearing a robe in bed bc I feel like it twists around and gets bunched up.

I wore this robe in dark blue. I really like it and have gotten a lot of use out of it post partum too.

I also brought one of those big TJMaxx reusable shopping bags to take supplies home from the hospital.

+1 same here. Also thanks to hormones, epidural after-effects, room HVAC, whatever, I was SO sweaty the days after delivery. I wouldn't have wanted to wear a robe even if I had brought one.

Now, once I was home, I lived in a comfortable jersey fabric one (and bought similar for this pregnancy/baby).

I just wore my regular bathrobe that I brought from home and had no blood-related issues.

My last baby I was asking random staff people why the heat was so high. Sweating buckets. I imagine that is what menopause has in store for me (yay!).

+1 I got a lavender one there when I was pregnant with my first and it was really helpful. I wore it a lot in the first few weeks of nursing, too. I didn't get any blood on it.

+1 with two vaginal deliveries. I don’t understand the concern about stains on a robe! I know everyone’s different but it’s really no different than being on your period with the amount of bleeding.

This. Though Sibley had cotton gowns not disposable.

You must have horrible periods. This was not the case for me. There was a lot of blood.

For me, I was sweating because of the 8 bags of IV fluids that they had just pumped into me during labor. I couldn't pee it out quick enough, so I was sweating it out too

I brought a "grandma" robe that zipped up. Loved that thing for nursing. I don't remember getting blood on it, but, I wouldn't bring anything to the hospital that you love.
