Emorys CS is 5 years old. Already top 100. |
How old is its Math program where it is ranked #55 compared to #26 for GA Tech. That new too? Physics #71 vs. #28? BTW, I was mistaken. GA Tech is #5 in Computer Science. So now you are going to tell me that Emory will jump ahead of Princeton and CalTech (tied at #8) and ahead of GA Tech, just after another 5 years? |
Maybe, but you're changing the subject. Either way are any GT humanities subjects ranked? |
| Grad school and undergrad education aren't the same. Also the difference between 26 and 55 is smaller than you think (reputation score of 3.9 and 3.2). |
For a school that specializes in STEM this was the flex you think it was. Solidifies that the school isn't that impressive other than CS and engineering. |
| Some GA tech acceptances were sent out today. My friend's DD in FCPS school was accepted |
| Excellent school. |
Ignorant nonsense. Emory mom is a striver. |
This was never about anything overall...simply GA Tech vs. Emory. What is indisputable is that GA Tech is rated very highly overall for CS and engineering (Emory not even close) and higher than Emory in Math and Physics. Emory is rated higher in the humanities and nursing. The idea that Emory will ever compete with GATech and others in STEM is laughable, but again, not really why anyone chooses to attend Emory, nor a focus of Emory. |
Nice try.

Georgia Tech is definitely worth the cost if you are able to get in. Like most state schools, they prioritize in-state admissions and it is extremely difficult to get in unless you kid is one of those groups that is underrepresented in STEM - URM, female, non-asian, etc. You will have better luck with Emory if you want a school in Atlanta. if you are looking for Public engineering schools, I'd also apply to Purdue, UIUC and Michigan. |
How can that be? I thought decisions would come out on 29th. |
| More delusional Emory boosting... |
Emory is much harder to get into even for CS. |
Is Biology not Stem? How about Neuroscience, and Statistics? Emory is rated better for those. It doesn't matter really. It's clear GT students are unsatisfied with it's current standing. |
