Saw this on Reddit, was curious what DCU thought... Is it worth the OOS cost?

Link didn't work but anyone have any insights on the school. |
| Us news is biased against engineering oriented schools. Caltech, Harvey mudd, and stevens are all rated lower than they should be |
| All the rankings can't be wrong. |
| It’s not MIT or Caltech… and it’s not better than say UCLA… it competes with Purdue, it’s in the right general ranking. |
| For what major? For aerospace engineering, it’s one of the top schools in the nation. But I wouldn’t go there for poli-sci. |
| What if DS is not sure on the major yet? |
|
good for all engineering courses..
But the courses are tough, kids normally are stressed there...ton of weed-out classes |
| This school is very much overrated. Someone posted in another thread the avg salary is only 75k. |
That is not a good yardstick...in that other post, it says the average salary for Yale is $70k. What does that tell you? Not sure. |
Look at USNews rankings by programs for GA Tech: Engineering: #4 CompSci: #5 AI: #6 Aerospace: #2 Mechanical: #2 The list goes on for technical fields...essentially, top 5 in just about everything. Now, I am sure if you look at their rankings in non-technical areas, they are probably not even Top 25. |
Is Yale an engineering school? Over 75% of GT is engineering or computer science. |
| A good school but they'll continue having trouble playing second fiddle to Emory. In fact they're lucky Emory doesn't have engineering because GT would like be completely irrelevant If Emory did. For most states there can only be one top school the only other thing is for Georgia to become a more important state. |
All of them end up working for either Oracle (Larry Ellison) or Apple (Steve Jobs). I don't think Ellison ever graduated and Jobs went to Reed College. |
lol what? |
