What are you making for New Year's Day?

Challah French toast, bacon, and eggs for breakfast. Roast chicken, creamed spinach, and cornbread for supper. Just what we were feeling this year.

The reason you eat pork is because a pig can’t look behind him.

NP with a mom from the South, but I never heard this. I assumed it was because, you know, South, pork, etc. plus the fact that you shouldn't eat chicken or you'll be scratching (scraping for money, for everything) in the new year.

Can you share a recipe if you make your own?

Shaking Beef and Shaking Tofu. No New Years tie-in except DC requested it before she goes back to school and our Saturday farmers market has watercress this week.

Leftovers from tonight for brunch tomorrow and then who knows for dinner.

We haven’t planned anything yet because we just weren’t feeling it this year.

As always - Russian potato salad, herring, and caviar.

Not cooking during the holidays reduces alot of stress. But mentally, I constantly think what is for dinner?! All the meals are out of whack. Times are all off. At least I'm not physically exhausted from cooking.

I don’t want pork chops and black eyed peas as I’d planned. Bleh.
