Why is Calleva Starting Registration So Early

Anonymous
The sign is in front of the Calleva owner’s home (no idea who that is or where the house is) but not in front of the business itself? Doesn’t seem to be a problem but yeah if you wade into politics then you will risk that you alienate families. If a camp owner had MAGA politics, I’d have to think twice about signing my kid up b

Agree. Free speech does not mean that speech is free from repercussions.

Exactly! Sad that folks can't put politics aside. I don't really care which side of the decision you are on. Also, great example for kids using curse words on a sign in front of your house (when you operate a camp for kids) regardless of how you feel. All the posters saying "Great" would lose their minds if the sign said the opposite which just shows the hypocrisy here.

It's not hypocrisy to prefer one set of values over another.

"F--- the Supreme Court" is the most appropriate response to the corruption of the SCOTUS and the loss of personal liberty to half of all Americans.

It's exactly what kids should be learning.

No the people saying "Great" would just think about spending their money elsewhere. That's not hypocrisy. People are free to associate with businesses that share their values, like how conservatives make a point of going to Hobby Lobby or Chick Fil-A.

The country is filled with business owners with conservative signs, including in front of their businesses not just their homes, try to driving through rural anywhere sometime and you'll see them. That's fine, that's their right, and it's my right to look for a restaurant that doesn't have a "Let's Go Brandon" sign out front. None of that is hypocritical.

In case the calleva owners are reading this, I’d like to get back to the initial post and just say that my kids would love to go to calleva but the registration system makes it just too hard to plan with other summer activities and coordinate with friends.

Wow. That is impressive go Calleva.

I am surprised but YAY.

SCOTUS does suck.

Just so you know the owners are Mormon lovely people. I would not say they are against conservatives just ones that are idiots and believe in the cult.

Yep that's why I have never shopped in a Hobby Lobby. Won't shop at Walgreens won't eat at Chic Fila.

My choice.

The problem is conservatives would prefer we have no choice. Given this thread, it is quite clear when the tides are turned they scream it's unfair... blah blah blah

Right now we live in a pretty free country come 2024 "my freedoms" will never ever be.

Wow. Way to contort yourself around an issue. The Calleva operators are private citizens and can post whatever they like at their home or their camp. Don't you understand free speech? Don't like their opnions? Don't send yours kids.

100% This thank you

Good.

+2 Bye, PP!

If the sign went in the other direction, how would you feel, pp’s? Leave the politics out of the children’s summer camps. Seriously. Let them live like kids without your baggage and drama. Covid has crushed their youth. Just stop.

Also, regardless of the subject matter, it’s gross to have such language blatantly displayed on the door of a home, let alone the home of people who are meant to teach your kids how to behave. They’re no better than trump (supporters).

No you are so wrong.

Kids are not stupid they know what is going on.

Currently, in this country, we have free speech it is a cornerstone of being American. The "my freedoms" crowd only wants Christian Nationalism.

Spare us your indignation clearly you have no idea what being an American is.

In 2024 you will get your wish and God help the US because it will be horrific and little Johnny and Susie will not be going to these camps. You will be lucky if you have bread. Good luck with your Putin fascist ideals the rest of us stand with Calleva's right to free speech.

I love this (if it's even true) and I'll keep supporting Calleva just like I keep supporting Cox Farms.

If you don't like their politics, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
