Why is Calleva Starting Registration So Early

Registration starts 12/9! I'm not ready to think about summer camp yet! Info on other camps isn't available yet so can't plan out summer and I haven't even thought about summer vacation yet. Ridiculous.

I agree. I saw Potomac camp had registration in early January. Hard to plan without knowing more camp schedules.

It’s tough because they have the best camps. But not sure I want to plan the whole summer around a camp.

I was just thinking the same about 2 other camps that sent registration emails. It seems several camps moved their early registration dates to December.

I'm so annoyed about this. I'm also wondering if payments made in 2021 for 2022 camps are eligible for dependent care FSA reimbursement.

I just submitted my open enrollment info and budgeted for camps for next year.

This must be it. There’s no other logical reason. They know their camps fill up so it’s not like they need to get families to commit to avoid competition.

I already registered before Thanksgiving for a camp to get their early bird deals and it was insane. I hate that it was so early.

I hope people write them and others doing the same to complain. I cannot start thinking about summer plans and camp before the holidays, especially during a pandemic!

We aren’t in DC anymore, and I was shocked to see that a popular day camp here in MA was entirely full for all sessions and all age groups in early November. Fortunately, there are other choices that haven’t started registration yet.

At least they are using a new registration system so hopefully it won't crash like in past years.

The fact that they have youtube videos online about the new registration system does not bode well. There should not be the need for instructional videos for camp sign up.

And it is frustrating that they have moved this to December. We are all busy with holidays, etc. and most other comparable camps are not registering right now.

Valley Mill is open for registration now. I'm glad that they recognized that their old system was terrible and upgraded.
