Nicolle Wallace is EXCELLENT. I agree Ari Melber is cringe and doesn’t need his own show but he has good legal analysis.

Nicolle Wallace and Brian Williams are the best.

I turn it off when Stephanie Ruhle comes on.

Wait -- did Abby Phillip move to MSNBC? I thought she was on CNN.

No, she didn't and she hasn't been on CNN since July 2021.

Right, still on maternity leave. Said she was going to take "full" leave, which is apparently ~4 months. https://www.thefocus.news/tv/where-is-abby-phillips/
I really like her, though the guest host is decent.

They are not going to fire Joy Reid, one of their only black announcers. She survived the homophobe-trans-phobe controversy.

She only got the position because she undermined Melissa Harris-Perry. If ratings are low-enough, they'll fire her and bring another black announcer on.

Agree.

I agree too. She is over-bearing.

I don't actively dislike her but I do find her abrasive and humorless, not my favorite qualities in a news commentator.

I second this about Nicole Wallace. I used to dislike her when she would pop up on Morning Joe, but her afternoon show is fantastic. Her Lives Well Lived segments during Covid were wonderful.
I actually also kinda like Ari Melber--the legal analysis is interesting.

Humorless! That’s a good description. I don’t think she can carry a whole show on her own.

Too much of a bloviator for me, along with Keith Olbermann. With the exception of the progressive Maddow, I gravitate toward sensible moderates like Nicolle Wallace and George Stephanopoulos. I do like Abby Phillip as well. Aside from politics, I guess demeanor is a big thing for me. I prefer calm and analytical.

MSNBC is losing ratings overall post-Trump years. Execs probably know they need to shake things up. Over the years, I have become more progressive and liberal in some respects and more conservative and libertarian in other respects. I haven't listened or watched MSNBC for years because of their super-narrow viewpoint - they speak only for the establishment - whatever party that may be - and do not provide sufficient perspective.

Chris had a big ego but he was great. I loved his sharp wit and random out of left field historical references. These Gen X kids are all total dumbbells with zero depth.

ugh, I was so happy when Matthews left. It was several years too late.

She’s one of my favorites. Excellent business smarts and gets guests that not everyone else gets.
