This. Also my MIL does the same thing. We always have to initiate. Just how it is.

You really don’t understand why it’s annoying to hear “We miss you/we thought the grandkids would forget us/you don’t call enough” when the people saying those things literally NEVER call? You really don’t understand that the phone rings both ways, so if you miss someone and want to talk to them, you can pick up the phone and call them instead of whining about it and being passive aggressive?

Interesting. So you don’t see how it’s ironic that the people who are whining about someone “never calling” are themselves actually guilty of NEVER calling? I don’t see what’s hard to grasp here.
