Best doomsday car?

Prius. I feel like a Prius is the answer to everything. I hate the Prius but at the same time I’ve never made a more sensible decision in my life.

The best doomsday vehicle is a bike. And after 5 years of no maintenance, the toads will be unusable even for that.

The roads will hold up better if nobody is driving motor vehicles on them, and you'll do just fine if you have wider tires.

Roads (esp. around population centers) will be impossibly clogged with traffic in such a scenario. Best bet is to have a motorcycle handy that you can use to get to a secondary location.

Get a bike.

Electric cargo bike?

The vehicle should be able to be used as a camper for sleeping and hauling clean water and supplies. So you need to go with a big honking SUV - hybrid.

Chevrolet Express cargo van is the way to go. Plenty of space to sleep in and haul your belongings.

The correct answer is indeed a Prius. It used to be the Crown Vic because they had an exceptionally low cost of ownership due to general reliability, ease of maintenance, and very low parts costs. The Prius also enjoys these same characteristics and is why they are used by cab companies.

Sailboat.

Something pre 1970 or so which has no computer parts and can be easily repaired. A Prius is not being fixed by you on the side of the road under any circumstances.
