So how will the Red Wave reach Maryland?

I think you're right. I do. but I think a lot of those "down to the bone" dems might be JUST frustrated enough to vote for Blair for MoCo Exec, or for a very moderate republican for Gov. Especially if someone like Baker gets the nom from the Dems

Baker is moderate compared to Ben Jealous, who he ran against last time. He's moderate compared to Tom Perez. Franchot and Gansler are old school and their time has come and gone.

If Michael Steele enters the race, I think he will win. He's very moderate.

Steele won’t win the Republican primary.

Who will then?

Baltimore would be a disaster.

He's too pro Palestine for me, but we have been able to tamp that down.

I’m in MoCo sadly it’s hopeless here. I’m just happy they haven’t established re-education camps for those not sufficiently supportive on the revolution yet.

What on Earth are you talking about?

There was no red wave in VA. Moderates and independents are tired of the extremes and partisans. I suspect the same will be true in MD. Voters will do what they need to do to keep things level.

I am not knowledgeable enough at the local level to opine using your system, OP, but I predict that MD will stay a centrist state (center left or center right), because it's one of the most educated and wealthy states in the nation, these educated and wealthy folk have the influence to shape elections, and they are best served with a middle ground.

I believe PP is referring to CRT being taught in the schools here.

To this comment: "Baker for governor. He's more centrist." (I couldn't quote it for some reason).

I think I could have considered Baker, but his running mate is not centrist. She is not only more to the left, but to the extreme left.

Maybe she's extreme left in the real world, but as far as Council is concerned, she's pretty moderate. At least she's not trying to destroy police like several others are.

Generally speaking, the Lieutenant Governor has no power and is just a figurehead. But who knows anymore?

After the past 4 years, I have gone from a democrat who voted for Hogan to a democrat who will never vote for another republican ever again in my life. So I don't think the odds are too good for the red wave in Maryland.

That's funny. I'm a Dem who just started voting for Republicans to send a message against wokeness to the Dems (like VA voters just did in electing Youngkin).

Not until the new majority in 2050.

Maryland ruined these counties so they are stuck with them just like they are stuck with Baltimore.
