How many people use the College/University Discussion forum?

There is also the Pitt hater.

I came when my oldest was a junior, youngest is a junior now and I am still here. Once he gets in wherever, I am outta here.

There are some nuggets of good info and you don't have to read through lots of garbage like on College Confidential. Great for answering questions from those who have been through the process.

Don’t forget the “lesser ivy” poster who didn’t even graduate from college.

There's also the mom of kindergartner who wants to know where to live

There's also the person whose kids only got a 1560 on the SAT (first try) and is wondering if they should retake it...this person may or may not be the "lesser Ivy" person.

+1 There is a certain segment of dcum that has to bring in hypsm in every discussion thread to try to show that the school is "not prestigious" or "overrated."

+2 I wonder if the hypsm prestige defense squad who tries to bash schools by arguing 1) the endowment is the only thing that matters and 2) grad schools do not exist is the same as the SLAC boosters.

51.

I majored in philosophy and have answered questions about my career. Others do too, though.

That said, there definitely are serial visitors/posters in the College forum. In particular, there is someone who likes to start ranking threads, largely to disparage UVA or hype their pet schools. It gets old.

This. I'm so tired of the rankings. Think I will go elsewhere.

The obnoxious Notre Dame mother.

There is (are) the poster(s) that inquire or provide experience on "nurturing" schools. Never understood this. Coddled nto their 20s? We're talking about quasi-adults who should be seeking FT employment if not in school.

I'm number 11, there were 1-5 and then 47-51 (6-10) - so I'm getting back to reasonable count.
