Several times in my life I have met someone that immediately grabs my attention in an awestruck/overwhelming way and have never understood why. It isn't just appearance nor is there a real common thread aside from somewhat similar personality traits.

Love was proven to be there at times but certainly not at the instant I met them.

I have but I definitely have a type and when the things I admire in people combine I can see how I fall for them

No. I think that when people say it happens they just had an infatuation that smoothly transitioned to love and they haven’t really lost either. (And hopefully they don’t, I love those stories!)
