Do you believe in love at first sight?

I don’t think you can be too old. I’m 11:28 and I was 43 when that somebody fell for me. We are still together.

Yes. It was love at first sight when my husband and I met. I knew he was the one almost immediately. We got married a little more than a year after meeting and have been married 22 years.

I believe in attraction at first sight!

But love? What is love? After so many years of marriage, I don't know what love is compared to respect, affection, desire, etc... it's all confused with irritation and resentment

I think love is a quality where you mirror each other clearly and you can learn from each other.

Respect you can have with so many different people. Affection can be for a child or someone you have warm thoughts towards. Desire is a feeling in your body and your imagination. But when someone reflects your essence back to you clearly that’s when you have something more deeply personal and compelling.

Irritation and resentment in marriage is when that person reflects back issues you need to work on.

Not really love at first sight, but recognition at first sight, like, wow, "you're one of my kind" in the words of INXS. Haha.

I guess the other part is that it would be mutual. I am a woman. I believe this mutual recognition "love at first sight" has happened to me two times.

Two different times, I saw a guy and recognized him as someone I should be with. It was attraction and something more that was unexplainable.

But hang on, what was it on his end? I am not sure anymore. Apparently guys make eyes like that for any beautiful girl.

Lust/obsession at first sight -all the time. Love/respect/attentive to needs -never. Relationships are developed, hormones are instantaneous.

No, but I get the idea that they fall in love without seeing each other. Same as internet romance, the one side fills in the blanks with what they wish for. I could not truly fall in love based on spoken words without visual/touch. I am mainly into the visual, visual cues and feel. Talking? Sure, I could get into it if shared interests/intellectual abilities. But an in-person meetup would potentially destroy, because physical presence and smell and touch rule attraction.
