My daughter has had the worst with female coaches. Abusive and degrading.

Exactly. The narrative that men are the abusive coaches and women are the ones fully understanding is an attempt to make this about gender and not about bad coaches. But this is how you grab power.

The narrative here is the same same old of male in position of authority abusing that authority to get sex from subordinates. Only too bad boys. (or girls if that is the situation)...the party is over and now you get called out and kicked out. Finally.

I can attest that one has to try really hard to pile up this many allegations as a white man.

Sincerely,

The players requested via the Players' Union that the games be canceled and the league agreed to accommodate the request.

The whole league should be cancelled. It’s a money pit as are most women’s pro sports.

It’s time for all coaches to be called out for their abusive behavior. Sexual, Verbal, mental and emotional. Riley and Burke are just the beginning. Next stop is Youth soccer, where both of these men had allegations against them. How many other coaches had things swept under the rug and why? NOVA would be a perfect place for any investigative reporter to start. So many stories that need to be checked into. Parents need justice for their DD and DS.

Go ahead and spill the facts. Have them? Better yet, give them to “any investigative reporter” (sic) Mr. Vigilante

The guy who runs the Backofthenet forum—Larry Miller—has been openly accusing Paul Riley of a pretty wide variety of transgressions for years and years, starting back when Riley was a youth soccer coach for Albertsons SC in NY. He was feeling vindicated when the news broke yesterday. I always thought it was weird Riley didn’t try to sue for libel, then figured many of the accusations were likely true. But if so, it never made sense that the Portland Thorns or any other team would have hired him.

So women are so weak that they allow their “superior” male bosses to have sex with them? Is that what we’re saying here? Women are inferior and also think so poorly of themselves that they allow themselves to be abused? Really? I am not sure what’s worse here, abusive power monger men or weak defenseless women. I mean stand up for yourself. Please.

This comment is so narrow-minded and naive. Did you forget about the power aspect? Have you never heard of studies regarding loss of jobs, positions, playing time, etc? Thus is not about gender it's abuse of power.

Of course it is. There is an obvious troll on here posting nonsense to get a reaction.
