I just did Day 1 of Month 2, and it was one of the most pitiful workouts of my life. I feel completely pathetic. By the very end of Month 1, I was starting to feel some mastery over it. Nuh uh. By the end of the workout my legs were shaking so badly and there was so little blood left for my brain to think straight that I could barely even follow what he was doing. One handed push-ups? Balance push-ups? Seriously? Damn.

| THEY ARE ALL DEAD. |

It will get easier. Just stick with it
|
| Do month 1 over again then try month 2 at the end. |
I'm sure I'll NEVER be as fast as the perky fitness instructors on the video no matter how many times I do it, and sometimes my 30 second water breaks are more like 90 seconds, and I put ice packs on my knees when I'm done (like now - ahhhh feels so good). But, I'm finishing it. It's not pretty, but I'm finishing it. |

Reviving this thread because I am the OP and I DID IT!
I see great results - and just in time for a bikini at the pool. I highly recommend Insanity if you want a very serious workout. |
| Thanks OP....on week 2, of month 1...and good to hear about your great results! |
| Awesome OP. congrats! |
| Does anyone mix insanity in with other fitness they like doing (i.e, like a few runs a week or a class)? How does that work? |
| Do you need a ton of room to do the workout? |
| Would you recommend this for someone who is very overweight, about 60lbs, so technically obese? It looks like I need to already have 6 pack abs to really do it. |
| Pp here on 2nd week...you don't need a ton of space to do it. To the overweight poster, I might try doing Jillian michaels 30 day shred and then moving up to insanity. However, I've seen online that other overweight people have done insanity and succeded....just thinking it may make you a bit more prone to injury and over exertion...maybe get the ok from your doctor first. |

Yes, you can create a hybrid of Insanity and other programs. A lot of people who finish Insanity end up doing that. They'll do insanity workouts on some days, but start blending in running or classes or weights on other days.
No, you don't need a lot of room. However, I would recommend that you choose well-ventilated space. My work out space has a ceiling fan directly overhead, and I don't mind tell you that it really helped! You don't need equipment either, other than a DVD player and water bottles. You don't have to already have a 6-pack to do it, but if you don't work out at all it's probably not the right place to start. It's called Insanity for a reason. Beachbody does have a LOT of workout programs though. I've chatted with people who started out much more than 60 lbs overweight, who worked hard and got amazing, jaw-dropping results. Many of them started out with something else and worked their way to Insanity or P90x. You might look at one called Turbo Fire, it will deliver real results and not have you risk injuring yourself. You want to do something you can succeed with and enjoy - that will deliver the positive reinforcement to keep pushing play and start getting the results you're looking for. Check out the member gallery and success stories on the Team Beachbody website, it will really inspire you. I'm SO glad I did it, it was really worth it. I'm finishing up a recovery week and then starting over again. |

Stick with it and make modifications where you need to. It's an extremely difficult workout.
P90X is another fantastic program. |
