Google Trolls Christian Fundamentalists

Google's doodle for Easter Sunday honors Cesar Chavez whose birthday was March 31.

The right wingers are on it:

Dana Perino
I thought the Chavez-google thing was a hoax or an early April Fool's Day prank...are they just going to leave that up there all day?

On Easter, Google honors Cesar Chavez … mm

Well, it looks like they are really serious about that Latino outreach.

I did not know what Cesear Chavez looked like, so I actually thought it was supposed to be Jesus (who was likely dark skinned rather than the blue eyes light skinned man he is always depicted as).

How is it 'trolling'?

You think Google did it to deliberately piss off Christian Fundamentalists, vs posting it specifically to honor Cesar Chavez?

This is the condemnation "Light has come into the world but the world prefers darkness preferring the dark ways of sin".

Thank you for explaining to me what trolling is. After all, I'm a complete Internet neophyte.

No, Google didn't intentionally troll Christians, but that's how it turned out anyway. Just look at how the Christian right reacted on social media. As an added bonus, Michelle Malkin's crew initially thought the doodle was honoring Hugo Chavez.

Now they probably think its the boxer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jesus probably would have hung with Chavez back in the day.

That said, I would venture that the observation of a holiday observed by hundreds of millions worldwide is probably more significant than the birthday of a minor regional figure.

Christians aside, why the hell would anyone want to honor Chavez?

Do you feel the same way about Dr. King? Or Ghandi?

Or, are you just a run-of-the-mill Internet twatwaffle who doesn't know about what she posts?

I'm guessing you're the latter: The worst sort of Internet user, who I usually scrape off the bottom of my shoe, like the dog shit I occasionally step in.

Bit of overkill... You could have just educated the poor dullard instead of insulting him/her.

And PP who doesn't know why, especially on the day that Christians hold holiest and on Cesar Chavez's birthday, someone who, like Jesus, argued for the poor and worked for the poor and sought to improve their lives, then that's just sad.

Few people acknowledge Jesus' radical message on poverty. It is too hard for a money-hungry people to accept.

I'm not a huge union supporter.
