It's not clear they have a lawyer either. Their GoFundMe is a little vague--it talks about "the lawyer" without giving a name and says another goal is to counter the bad publicity they're getting. And it clearly states that any money not used for these purposes will go to the family.

Maybe they're hoping to retain a lawyer. I don't know.

It is very clear to me they won’t retain anyone and will keep the money. They have no one to sue. Any motion filed against her will be dismissed, it doesn’t matter which civil court judge it lands before.

How completely crazy this is. She wanted to get home. I thought this miserable corner of the net was parenting focused — I can’t believe there are women here who would be proud of their sons acting like this. I can’t believe that any woman who has ever had a baby could troll and say the PA was “wrong” to be e-biking or commuting or working towards her 3rd trimester. We are living in the upside down for real, for real. They have zero viable claims against the PA AND against media sources, whereas she has strong defamation claims. But the way that the boys’s supporters have dug in show this is punitive, and that they can’t stop at all. The PA is being held as a representative of all of her sex and racial profile, and while she literally never screamed “police” “security” “call 911” AND the receipts PROVED her attorney’s summary, people are even angrier today than they were initially. That’s scary for her. I’m so sorry this happened to her. It won’t be fixed.

I don’t believe you’re being sincere. There are additional twitter hits, millions more views, additional followers for the accounts that defamed the PA with claims of theft and attempting to get boys killed - all of that is new. She’s been treated cruelly. Her prospects have been damaged, and no one else’s and now there’s a fund and someone here saying HER crowdsourced funds for legitimate attorneys fees (since she has viable claims) should be dismantled.

So - in sincerity, you can’t be serious. I would feel destroyed were I in her position and living in the city where I’ve lived for years and am raising my own family, knowing that people have been told I’m a racist. I don’t use the bike system but life in NYC would feel unsupportable for me.

Additional views now that her story has come out is not equivalent to “people being angrier today than they were initially”. I haven’t seen anything like what you’re describing, and yes I’m being sincere.

The tenor of the primary twitter defamers - Judge and “Tizzy” - is IMO darker and angrier. I don’t see how anyone could miss that, and I don’t follow their accounts. They kept this alive and have rebranded the PA as a liar showing incomplete proofs. Have interviewed and platforms the family. Have promoted the GoFundMe. This is trying to destroy her, and I am not exaggerating. It’s creating additional waves of animus on other sites. It’s supposed to.

When you dig in your heels, you have to recommit and never wager, and we’re seeing that here.

DP. Would the young man need a lawyer if he's called as a witness/whatever to the defamation suit against Judge and Tizzy? Then it would be in their best interests to stoke both the outrage and the GoFundMe. Not so he can file his own defamation suit because you all say he doesn't have a case.
