Would you buy a house in NOVA with no garage?

Anonymous
Any idea how much it would cost to add one?

Oh god, never. I would never buy a house without at least a 3-car garage. The neighborhood it is in is irrelevant.

Without at least a 3-car? Typical potomac new money try-too-hard housewife.

A garage would be nice, but it doesn't snow too much in this area, so I don't consider it necessary.

You are not someone I would want to be friends with.

We did. It's generally not a problem. Hardly anyone in our neighborhood has one.

It is not on my list of must haves. It would be nice for storage and extra space. It is not a deal breaker as I am shopping for a sfh.

Almost no one in my neighborhood has one (Arlington). We all have sheds. Not a problem.

No.

No. I own an old sports car and it has to live in a garage (roof leaks, etc.). Also need that storage.

Or, someone cracking a joke. Sheesh.

There aren't that many garages in some areas of NoVa. I wish I had a garage, but neighborhood and the specifics of the house outweighed my desire for a garage.

I did. Will likely do so again in the not too distant future. No big deal.

Garages are totally irrelevant in this area.

We did, so yes. There is no reason anyone has to have a garage in an area that gets as little snow as this. Sure it would be nice, but not a necessity. I suppose you could add one but I doubt you'd get the money back at resale.
