An allegation from 36 years ago. An allegation from a woman whose details have conflicted and who won’t release any of her therapy notes.
It simply does not fit with his behavior over the past 36 years. Not when you have dozens of people - mostly women - speaking up about his impeccable character and his respectful treatment of women.

Almost being raped causes some people trouble.

She seemed credible to most, including most Republicans. How many victims does Brett need to have come forward for you to find any of them credible? You’d give him a pass to ten? Is it 20 victims and you’d believe?

Oh, FFS. And, most Republicans, like myself, believe she has had some type of sexual assault in the past. But, not by Kavanaugh. In fact, I think whatever happened was much more serious and happened in her late teens, as her therapists notes have indicated.
How many “victims?” How about just ONE credible victim with some kind of corroborating evidence. We have seen nothing like that. You can trot out 20 people with allegations. That means nothing except that Democrats will indeed do whatever it takes to derail this nominee.

She knew Brett. She knew her attacker. This wasn’t that she witnessed someone get mugged and she had to guess which two brown haired teens did it; he pulled her into the bedroom, locked the door, got her on the bed, tried to take her clothes off, covered her mouth when she screamed, fondled her, and ground his pelvis against hers while his friend laughed and jumped on top of both of them.

We’ve seen three credible victims. So far. Just because the GOP lives and dies by the rat*uck does not mean the the Democrats do,

This is what SHE says. After 36 years. Sorry, but memories are not always accurate. The 4 people who she said were there have absolutely no recollection of it. None. Her own friend has said she does not know Kavanaugh. How do you reconcile this..... Ford said after her alleged assault, she went downstairs, left the house where her friend was and the three boys were downstairs with her. How could this be if her friend says she doesn’t know Kavanaugh?
The other two claims are a bunch of BS. Not at all credible.

Another lie: Kvanaugh was a Yale legacy. He said under aoth he had no connections to get in there.

This interesting graphics depicts every time either Ford or Kavanaugh did or not answer a question (it’s probably already been posted thrice, but I don’t want to read from 50 to 190 to catch up). It does a good job showing how much Kavanaugh lied and obfuscated and drifted off topic.

To be fair to Kavanaugh, that can happen when you testify drunk.

Not a single Ford supporter will explain this.

It’s been explained so many times but I’ll do it again: that gathering was a non-event for Keyser so nobody expects her to remember. They went to the pool almost every day, it sounds like small gatherings after being at the pool were a regular occurrence, and Ford didn’t tell her about the assault. Can you recall every gathering big or small that you went to as a freshman in college and who was there? I certainly cannot, I pretty much just remember events, etc. with personal significance, even then I can’t remember much detail. Even though she doesn’t remember anything she trusts her friend and believes her.

And, I will say it again.... Her own friend has said she does not know Kavanaugh. How do you reconcile this..... The he said/she said of the Kavanaugh-Ford testimonies Thursday aside, Kavanaugh’s demeanor, his clear partisanship despite his assurances in earlier testimony that he was not partisan, his conspiracy theory allegations, and the rudeness with which he responded to Democratic Judiciary Committee members demonstrate, at the very least, that he is ill suited for the SCOTUS.

This is a man who ranted about his disdain for Democrats and threatened them - he’ll have to recuse himself from any case where a Democratic Party member or known liberal individual or group brings a case before the court. He is also dangerous - our Democratic institutions require as apolitical judiciary as is feasible. No reasonable person could expect Kavanaugh to be unbiased in cases where liberals or Democrats are involved.

And then there’s his very deliberate obfuscation and lies. The Devils Triangle is a drinking game? Boofing is farting? Renate was just a really good friend you admired? C’mon, Brett.

And already, his life has been permanently altered. Nice.

Nothing has happened to his life. This will all be old news in a couple of weeks and he will be on the SCOTUS.

B.S. Whether he is or isn't confirmed, his life will never be the same. Thanks in large part to people like you.

I’m sorry but so what? Statistically speaking, she’s probably telling the damn truth.

But you don't know that she is. No one knows who's telling the truth. And I certainly care about an innocent man being treated as if he's guilty. You claim to also, but of course, only if we're talking about a POC. Right?

It doesn't matter. If you have a hint of scandal = NO SUPREME COURT

He was a wild guy in high school and partied a lot. Those are the breaks.

Funny that didn't come out until so late in the process. Really funny.

or during all the years of his adult life in which no one has every come forward with anything of this nature

People - women - don't come forward with this type of allegation because they fear the very criticism and speculation Ford's allegations brought to her.

That backlash against the accuser can be as painful as the initial assault. Sure, innocent until proven guilty, but accusers have the right to come forward without being painted as angry/crazy/unstable/loose/embittered (fill in the blank) harpies who were out to ruin Brett's very fine and upstanding career. Which is exactly how conservatives have painted Ford.

Conservatives just want these women to shut up. Unless of course they are making accusations against a Democrat and then conservatives are so very concerned about women (Franken).

Then 15 year old girls should not drink beer at parties with older athletes who are heavy drinkers.

Yep. It's her fault that Kavanaugh assaulted her. He is a beast when drunk, and she should have known better.

Bingo. Walk across the street when the light is turning yellow and you might get hit by a car. Drink alcohol at 15 with known heavy drinkers and you might get groped.
Measure your risk and act accordingly. It’s s pretty basic concept of look both ways that kids learn.

And, act like a jerk or worse while drunk and accept the consequences, including allegations that might impact a potential job promotion.

Getting drunk means accepting that you might do something really, really stupid or harmful to others or cause something bad to happen for which your "side of the story" likely won't be as believable as it would be if you had been sober.

https://www.newsweek.com/kavanaugh-said-he-had-no-connections-yale-he-was-legacy-student-1145286

"Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh said underoath that he had “no connections” to Yale prior to attending, arguing that hard work and ambition were the sole factors leading him to study at the prestigious institution of higher education.

However, that statement is verifiably untrue. In fact, Kavanaugh would be classified as a legacy student, because his grandfather Everett Edward Kavanaugh also attended Yale as an undergraduate student, The Intercept reported on Saturday, sharing an image of a 1928 yearbook.

“I have no connections there. I got there by busting my tail,” Kavanaugh, a who currently serves as a federal judge, said while testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.

Yes, Ford should be a bit concerned since her dear friend could not corroborate her story.

Friend already said she believed her.

Do you think believing a friend just because you're friends is the same as being able to be sure of what occurred??

He was defending himself. He had every right to be angry and righteously indignant considering the horrendous allegations thrown at him.
And, I am sure you have the same opinion regarding partisanship regarding RBG.

RBG in 2016 regarding Trump: "He is a faker. He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego.... How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns?"

She said her boyfriend of the time, Squi, introduced her to Kavanaugh. Surely his testimony will be important in establishing if Ford and Kavanaugh knew each other or not.
